Ahoy Here Be Pirates!

Sim lovers come one, come all. Maybe it's because we all wanted to get our hands on some "booty" at one time or another but the allure of pirates is a timeless one. This game allows you to act like a pirate if only for a little while. No not one of those pirates like Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom but those of real legend. This sim game allows you to become the infamous Anne Bonny or Long John Silver and command your own fleet of bad guys as they plunder the seas. I am not going to try and sell you that this is the best sim game ever,but it does provide hours and hours of play for not too much money. The game allows you to build a variety of different ships, and create a world where your pirate folk can entertain themselves and make a nice dishonest living.
There are a series of different campaigns the user can embark on trying to make pirates happy, usually with extra drink and festivals, trying to foster war between the nations, and kidnapping enough captives to life the good life. The graphics are nice, again not the best i've ever seen, but certainly much better than some of the stuff that has found it's way to the market lately. There are some cute animated segments: one for the opening that follows a parrot across the island, and one when your island gets invaded by France, Britain or Spain. Tropico Pirate Cove is the second in the tropico series of games. The first allowed you to run a caribbean island while this one focuses on the pirate side of things. I especially enjoy the voodoo option that allows you to raise the dead for half price. while not really being educational, I enjoy the fact that the territory and characters are loosely based on fact. I would recommend this game to any serious sim lover or anyone who really, no I mean really, likes pirates.
