We seem to go through a LOT of
blenders in my house! All we need is an easy to use, easy to clean, but NOT easy to break blender! We don't use it everyday but when we do, it needs to work fast and again, not break easily. I mention that again since we had broken either the jar or the lid on our last three blenders! Well, I am glad to say we have had our
Toastmaster 1132 Blender for 9 months now and it is still not only still working great but it is still not broken!
We picked up our Blender at Target for $16.00 and I have seen them at other department stores (and online) as well.
The
Toastmaster 1132 Blender has a white,
wide base which is solid and very stable. It stands 16-1/2 inches high and has 350 watts of power. The base is easily kept clean with a damp cloth washing.
There are
8 speeds including a
pulse option which works will any speed. The dial is easy to turn and each number is large enough to easily read.
The
lid is plastic and has a removable 2-ounce measuring cup in the middle. This was a bit of a concern for me as I was afraid we would lose it but so far we have been able to keep it. I don't think I have used the measuring cup more than a couple of times as I am more of a "estimate" kind of cook but it could be a handy little feature for some.
The
jar is a large 48 ounce size. It is clear plastic and is dishwasher safe. As I stated it hasn't broke at our house and so I think it is safe to say it is very impact-resistant!
The
cord wrap feature is a nice little convenience but not that important to me. I use it but if it didn't have one I'd just wrap the cord around the base.
The
three-plane stainless-steel blades have held up really well! In the 9 months we have used our
Toastmaster 1132 Blender I have NOT noticed a difference in the blade abilities. They cut through ice, mix up thick ice cream and blend dressings as easily now as when we first used it! They do need to be hand washed and not put in the dishwasher.
A booklet with
38 recipes comes with the blender. I have flipped through it but pretty well know how to blend things and have my own preferred recipes I use. They might b helpful to someone who has never owned a blender before or have only used one for milkshakes like I had for years!
The
Toastmaster 1132 Blender has a one-year warranty.

We are really hard on any appliance that everyone in the family uses! While I try to be careful in the way I handle them, I cannot say the same about all of my children! Since I think it is VERY important that they learn to cook and do things for themselves in the kitchen, I am willing to accept that the appliances will wear out sooner.
I am glad to say that after 9 months of use, by ALL of my family, our
Toastmaster 1132 Blender is working as well as it was when we first bought it!
I can recommend it to any family that is looking for a good, durable everyday blender!
