At one in the morning on a Friday night I jumped into my beat up car and drove to the 24 hour Wal-Mart. Praise Wal-Mart! My goal was a Playstation game to keep me company while my friends were out of town. Yes, I know it is sad that I need Playstation as a companion, but it is the truth. My eyes scanned through the security cases and got hooked onto Tetris Plus. At the time I was still new to the Playstation realm and was in awe that there was a Tetris for Playstation at all. I instantly had flashbacks to my childhood and the many hours I spent glued to the TV or my gameboy playing Tetris. I HAD to have it. The electronics guy asked if I needed any help and I told him I wanted to get Tetris Plus. He handed me the game and I made my purchase. I quickly went home and put the game in my console. I was so excited!

The main menu popped up and much to my surprise there were four options to play. Four! Since I was by myself I went to the old school mode and started playing. It was exactly like I remembered it. I think I played Tetris till 6 in the morning that first night. I went onto the puzzle mode and loved that also. The goal of the puzzle mode is to get a little man through the bottom of the floor so he can find his treasure. To do this you have to complete lines and make a gap that he will walk into, or you can give him a little push. The hard part is that while you are trying to get him through the floor the ceiling is collapsing on him. When you drop a block in front of the man he will climb up it. Don't let his head get cut off and you are good to go.

Two player mode is the same concept as the puzzle, but you play for speed. Whoever reaches the bottom first is the winner. The hard part is that you can drop lines on the other player, thus making it more difficult to win. This mode kept me and my roommate busy for a good 3 to 4 hours. The whole time we were arguing over who was better, no one will ever know because we never stop playing.

The edit mode is ok. You can create your own puzzles to beat. I think this is too easy but it could be cool if you had one person make the puzzle and another defeat it. The possibilities are endless. This game is awesome for anyone who likes to use their mind to solve puzzles. If you like violent games or shooting games, you might want to take a crack at Tetris, but maybe rent before you buy. And always remember you can save your game so you can stop once in a while. RIGHT!!!
