I admit it, I love Tetris. I've been playing it since I was a little girl. I remember begging my parents to let me stay up a bit later just to finish whatever game I was playing at the time. Over the past few years, I haven't played much...mostly because my Nintendo (yes, the old one!!!) finally stopped working after all these years. I recently picked up a used Color Gameboy at work for a great price and guess what was the first game I tried??? Yes, it was Tetris DX. I get 5 free rentals a week and each week I use it on this game. I was addicted from the very beginning.

Tetris DX offers 4 different modes of play. The first is Marathon. In marathon, you try to accumulate as many points as you can all the while going up a level for every 10 lines you make. This is my favorite because it allows uninterrupted play until you mess up and the screen closes up on you.

The second is Ultra. In ultra, you are given 3 minutes to score as much as you can. It is fun to try and beat the clock, but I got tired of having to start a new game all the time.

The third is 40 Lines. As the title suggests, the object is to get 40 lines. This is another timed game. After you finish the 40 lines, the game stops. I enjoyed this game though after you do finish the 40 lines, you have to wait for a lengthy scene to finish before you can start again.

The last is Vs. Com. In this game, you challenge the computer in a easy, normal, or hard game. For every line that clear your screen, it shows up on the computers screen. And vice versa. I find this one the most challenging. If you choose the hard level, be in for some stiff competition. It definitely doesn't give you any chances. One mistake and you're done.

As a Tetris addict, this game offers it all. And unlike the regular Gameboy Tetris, this one saves all high scores even when you turn off the game. It also keeps a running total of all the lines you're accumulated with the different games. I enjoy this game a lot, but then again I'm an addict so I'm biased. I suggest this game to anyone who loves Tetris or just loves to challenge their mind. You won't be disappointed.
