Tekken 2 is a great game. It has everything; Great graphics, sound, control, and fun. The story of Tekken 2 is very interesting and captivating. I truly like this game.

Story: Two years have passed since Kazuya Mishima won the first King of the Iron Fist Tournament. With the disappearance of Heihachi, Kazuya – the new leader of the Zaibatsu organization, is holding the tournament a second time. The best fighters from around the world are gathered to compete for the title of “King of the Iron Fist”.

Graphics: The graphics are good. Some polygon features are still there. They are sometimes boxy and unclear. The opening introduction is great. The characters facial features and movements look real. Nice and smooth. The backgrounds are wonderful. They are very realistic looking. All of the punches and kicks are very nicely done. When you hit your opponent, blood squirts out. There are also some nice looking special effects on special and super moves, from lightning to bursts of light. All in all, the graphics are very good, but they need to work on the boxy characters.

Sound: The sound is award winning. Each plain of fights has its own theme song. The songs are crisp and clear. You may even change the background music to something different in the options menu. The music really gets you going for the upcoming battle. It is not annoying or repetitive. I would give 5 stars to the music.

Control: The controls are tight, crisp, and fast, not to mention, smooth and flawless. You may use the standard Playstation controller or the Namco neGcon controller. Either way the gameplay is great. There is a huge list of moves for all the characters, as well as some basic moves. The easiest way to learn moves is to play. There is also a menu, if you pause the game, to help you in your moves. I thought the controls were very good. They did everything I wanted them to do as fast as I could do them.

Fun: The fun of this game is high on the scale. All of the characters and moves, what more could a gamer ask for? There are also many hidden secrets and characters throughout the game. I will let you find them out for yourself. I find myself playing this game quite often because it is always different. You can find something new you didn’t find before each time you play. Therefore the replay value is very high.

There are a lot of options and game modes in this game. There are six game modes – Arcade, Two-Players Vs. mode, Team Battle, Survival mode, Time Attack, and Practice Mode. All of these modes are fun and challenging. There is also an options mode. This lets you set the difficulty level, fight count, round time, speaker out, BGM select, Vs. game wins show by, character change at continue, key config, quick select, and guard damage. There is also an extensive records section. This is where you can view all of the records that you or friends have made. You can also save and load your games with a memory card.

I would recommend this game to anyone that loves fighting games. Although the graphics are lacking, the sound, gameplay and controls make up for the difference. Tekken 2 is a great gaming experience.
