Author's Review
Are you ready? Hang on, we're going to swing through the trees, climb a few vines, jump on the backs of a few animals, and more. Since I brought Tarzan, Disney Action Game home he has become to most played CD in our house. Everyone from youngest to oldest will sit and play for hours.
At first I had trouble understanding how to play this game without using the mouse; you see, all moves are controlled by the keyboard or a joy stick, and we don't have a joy stick. (not yet, that is) However once I mastered that I was having a blast. Jumping, swinging, climbing, you name it, there is so much action in it. My problem was I kept getting killed, didn't know why, then one day I realized I'm just to old these days.
Yeah, You have it, I have a child, all of seven, and she showed me tricks, hidden treasures and just moved all over that game like a pro. Well then, if she can do it, I can too! And, one of these days I will, if I can ever get that hair off the elephants tail and get away from the stampede.
The game is so wonderful for us because Tarzan starts as a child in the jungle and as you master levels he grows and scenes change. The next level Tarzan may be older or another character may have a challenge. There are three levels of difficulty, of course I'm still on the easy.
So I play at my speed on my level and my little girl plays on her speed at her level and most of the time I watch her, to pick up pointers and tricks. It still amazes me the way she knows that keyboard and can hit those command keys, talk about hand eye coordination.
Are you ready to play? Well you need a Pentium class processor, 166 MHz or faster, MS WIN 95 or later, 24MBfree hard disk, 2MB DirectX-compatible video card supporting 16-bit color, 16-bit DirectX-compatible sound card, and a Quad-speed (4X) CD-ROM. The video card and the sound card are real important because the graphics and music are great, along with between every level there is a clip from the movie that introduces the next level.
I hope you enjoy Tarzan as much as we have.
