Pricey GPS, but worth every penny

Pros:  Solid, rugged GPS unit that is ready for the trail

Cons:  Pricey, fixed memory.

I previously owned (and reviewed) the Garmin ETrex Legend, which I found to be too fragile for trail use. The 60cs series is a huge improvement over the ETrex line! Here's the improvements that I found most useful:

* Color display - a must for topo maps!
* USB port - download/uploads are much faster
* More memory
* Turn-by-turn driving directions with audio alerts
* Much better reception
* The buttons are easier to use, especially with gloves
* Much more rugged!
* Reacts faster to position changes
* Even has games!

The battery life is very decent for a color display of this quality. The 60cs worked just fine with the Garmin MetroGuide USA and TopoUSA software that I already owned. I use my 60cs for everything from metro travelling to Geocaching and it works great! One downside is that you cannot expand the memory on this unit.
