Excellent For The Price

by  billdoss,   Jan 19, 2008

Pros:  The performance is worth way more than the price.

Cons:  It doesn't use a standard alkaline battery, rather it uses a coin type cell.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this rangefinder to replace a lost Bushnell model. The 440 is awesome. On closer ranges it will actually split and indicate the 1/2 yard. I mainly use it for hunting. I tried some experiments ranging known targets from my stand. I checked in heat, cold, rain and some pretty serious snow and the range indicated did not change. I was able to acquire deer out to 270 yards on clear ground. I was able to range on the fly as well...swinging across the field it ranges in real time. To describe how specific- it would read a 4"x4" fence post against a stand of trees from over 200 yards! It hits golf flags through trees. I'm still on the battery that came with the unit. I've tried it in weather from as high as 90 to as little as 2 degrees F without difficulty or a reduction in performance. I couldn't be happier.
