The Tamron 90mm/2.8 Macro Lens is an excellent lens for both macro photography as well as an all-purpose lens. Costing under $400 this lens rivals the equivalent lenses made by Canon and Nikon while costing less than half the price. If you have ever taken close-up pictures of your baby or of flowers and then wondered why they were out of focus, it is because most non-macro lenses can't focus closer than two or four feet. With a macro lens you can get wonderful, frame-filling, images, and with the Tamron lens you can get awesome quality at a very reasonable price.
