SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom for Windows

I purchased the Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom game for my nephew this past February for his birthday. He just turned ten years old. He is a huge fan of Sponge Bob and this looked like a good buy. My nephew is rather good with a computer so it was going to be no problem for him to figure out how to play the game. I was sure of it. I got it at Game Stop here in Rhode Island. The one in Warwick Rhode Island to be exact. There are a few Game Stop stores around here, but that is the one closest to me, so I chose that location to get it at. It was only $10.00 and was an open box buy. I checked it to make sure no scratches were on it. To be honest only the plastic had been removed from the case. The case still had the sealed stickers on it so it must have never been tried out. Either way it was worth a shot for the price they were asking for it.

To install it was simple. Open it up, take out the CD, put it in and click install. Boy that was easy. With in a minute or two tops, the game is in and ready for play time. This game is to be used with Windows 98 and higher only. Making it great for a lot of people. I myself have Windows XP and the game run very smooth. You can choose to install it custom install or install it recommended install. I choose recommended since it puts all my games on the C drive and that is where I would choose to put it any how. But if you want to put it in your own location , you can choose custom install so you can do that. Both take the same short time to install, it really does not matter which one you choose to do.

Click the Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom game icon to begin to play your game. Now you wait a few seconds for the game to come on. This takes a short time. Not a long wait at all. The game comes on and you pick which area that you would like to play in first. Lets just say that you have picked the fields. Now a new scene comes on. It will have 6-8 circles on it. Each circle is a game. Only one will be lit up in that section, as in all the others will be the same way. In order to highlight the next circle to play a new game you must first beat the already highlighted one to unlock it. This makes it much more challenging because if you lose you just have to keep trying till you get it! You can't give up because you will not be able to play the next game till you beat the first one.

You will play tons of games on the Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom game . There are several locations in the game to play in, each have their own set of games. In one you will have to swing Sponge Bob from vine to vine with out having to get eaten by a robot or falling off. You get 4 lives to try with and can pick up more on the way. Then you can play a game where the magic shop items are missing and you need to round them up and get them all back to the magic shop. Sounds pretty easy right? Nope, you have to find them all over the street while cars and trucks are coming right at you! It is harder then it seems. I tried it and it took a few times for me to get just 1 object. My nephew got them fairly quickly. But he too said it was hard to do. But had fun doing it.

As you move up in rounds you will come to trivia games. One you will see Squidward trapped in a cage. You need to get him out so he can complete the next game. But it won't be easy. There are trivia questions you need to answer first. All about Squidward, and Sponge Bob with Squidward related. Maybe things they game to each other, maybe about where the work together. What Squidward does at his job, where he lives and who lives next to him. If you watch the show you will know most of these right away. You have to reach a certain number of correct answers before you can move on to the next level. In another area of the game it is Sandy you must answer questions about, then Gary, then Patrick and so on. Once you set the person free you become that person but only for the next game. Then you go back to being Sponge Bob again.

There are games where you need to jump on and over moving platforms, climb ropes that evil robots are already on, and avoid being hit by one. Capture flags and place them where they belong while avoiding creatures and robots. There are just so many games with in the game it is just amazing. There is a lot to do. All which is not very easy. The game is for ages 6 and over. This is a good age choice because a smaller child would get upset with trying so hard. They may not have the patience an older child has. My nephew adores the game.

I stayed for a few hours the day I gave it to him and he played the entire time that I was there. Every time I come over he shows me how far he is getting. I love it because even after months of play time on it. He still has not beaten it yet. But is exited to tell me even if he beats only one new level. It really makes him proud. You can buy a kid an easy game with no skill needed. But what fun is that for them, and really, what does it teach them? Nothing. This game is hard to play on some levels, giving them challenges, teaching them patients, making them proud of them selves once they finaly do get it. That is what is important.

The graphics are good, and the sound effects are great. Sponge Bob and the others look and sound just like they do on the show. As it talks out loud they also flash the words on the screen for a moment too. So if you are playing with the volume off you still can tell what is going on. The music is fine, just like the cartoon really. Same theme song too. You can turn the music off in the options, but you do not have to. It is not annoying music at all.

This game is geared toward the cartoon Sponge Bob Square Pants. Both boys and girls watch the show and this would be great for both genders. It is not gears toward one or the other more. Also it is not very violent either. Knock a robot off the rope, fall down maybe. Use a rubber sword to bounce a robot down. Nothing serious and nothing graphic in nature at all. Making it a safer game to play with less bad influences.That is just as important to me with my nephew as it is with my own kids.

My nephew loves the Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom game and has gotten a lot of use from it. I am glad that I made the purchase. It was well worth the ten dollars spent. I do very highly recommend it.
