Syphon Filter

For the fans of the classical playstation versions comes perhaps the last game in the series unless of course it makes the jump to PS2. All and all I've found Syphon Filter to be one of the most enjoyable games to come my way in a long time. Despite, being a die hard Metal Gear fan I had to take a time out and look at the finer things in life. Rather then some mindless guard screaming
"There he is!"
And, reaching for his radio I was quite impressed with the enemy AI in this. Despite running on a nearly dead plateform (jump to Playstation 2 Please!) I've found it to be just the pick up and play kind of game I was looking for. It plays a lot like golden eye and less and less like Metal Gear Solid. Also, finally after all of the advances over the past three years I'm amazed that Metal Gear took the head shot well not really it's one of the things that makes this game so good. Although, it easily could've been the other way around if the head shot hadn't of been put in the first one.

Okay, some say it's a rip-off and I'd like to differ. There are no details which are put into the same ball park as Metal Gear. Sure, there's a back stabbing two faced wreck inside of your agency but sooner or later after watching the spy movies of the past and as of late yeah it's pretty much a movie. A movie with B type voice overs but then again a B movie actor inside of a critcally acclaimed game isn't so different. I love the head shot it's just so cool and it enables you to use stealth without being detected. This game does no wrong inside of the fact that maybe a few tweaks to the weapons here and there would've been okay.

Okay, so there not as good as the older Filter games. But, at least that's better then nothing. New and improved graphics make up but the voice acting is still weak and a little stale. All around though the games are not the only things which make this type of game tick.

Not as weak but not yet as strong as it could've been. With several years but into the series you think at least the plot could've improved. But, it's not that bad rather it's been perfectly put into place. It could be worse to name a few games which have failed within the plot or that have no plot take a good long look at Metal Gear Solid VR okay, I'm sorry if I ticked off a few people but it's true. The weak voice acting is what takes it down a few ticks below the scales it the acting was balanced a 4.5 would very much have been in order.

About the same as the first two grab a silenced gun and aim for the head babe stealth is your only friend here where there are not to many.

Well, that concludes my review of a very good game. All ready on the game faqs board it's gotten some mixed reviews but so far this game is perhaps one of the best to be out right now. If, your a fan of the series or want something other then a complicated plot filled with dog tags grab this. It's at least as real and as explosive as splinter cell.
