Reliability problems with it

I bought this because the coffee grinder in my Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker was sticking so badly, I could not get it out to clean it.

My overriding complaint is that it quit working after about 7 months. Quit working means that when I press the button to grind beans, nothing happens.

Other than that, I thought it was a bit noisy but I can deal with that, the static charge is something else though.

I live in the northeast and in the winter, the air in my home is quite dry. When I attempt to dump the ground coffee into the basket, they are charged particles and go EVERYWHERE. Not nearly as bad in the summer.
