I have been using the Cuisinart since Christmas of 2007. It was a present, so although I did not paid for it directly, I believe that it is a great unit for the money. I had looked at many grinders and had balked at the price of most of them, unwilling to spend a lot of money in something that would be a nuisance. After using this burr grinder for three months, I can say that it is awesome. We consume top grade organic coffee and only grind to the finest powder (Turkish) grind. I have no use nor understand why anybody would grind at any other size than the smallest. Even a cheap coffee is improved by a powder size grinding. This burr grinder performs great. It does have static electricity, but I do not know how it could not. All I do is let the grounds in the holder for some time until the static electricity fades away. Then all you have to do is tap the bottom of the holder on the table and all the grounds go the bottom. In three months of daily use, I have had to clean the feed throat twice, but I think this is normal of any unit doing very fine griding. No complains there. All mechanical things must be cleaned to stay performing well. I recommend this grinder to anybody looking to enjoy fresh ground good quality coffee and does not want to break the kitty with $300 hyped up grinder. Finally, I must add that I usually grind the max volume at once and that lasts me several days before I grind again. No different that going to Starbucks and buying a pound or more of grounds. This way the coffee sits (overnight most of the time) in the holder and all static electricity banishes by the time I make coffee while wearing my best white shirt and favorite tie. Zero spills, no rush and life is great. The noise is never and issue because I never stay in the kitchen when the grinder runs. I have other things to do than to watch coffee grind or paint dry. Thanks Cuisinart. I have become a fan. Don't change anything and keep the price the same.
