Pros: A whole lot of features for a very small price, SONY reputation
Cons: Gimmicky 6.1, not the cleanest signal you'll find, but still respectable
The Bottom Line: If it's bang for the buck, the 875 is a winner. Read review for meaningful details.
Review: I decided to write this one because I've always found Sony products to be near the top of the 'normal-higher' consumer range of electronics. If you're reading a Sony review, I'm going to guess you're NOT in the market for audiophile grade...

Pros: Many many features with a decently low cost. DTS, DD 5.1.
Cons: Needs second room (A/B) speaker option.
The Bottom Line: Inexpensive and very versatile home-theater with high end movie-house sound. It's served us well for well over a year and it won't send you to the poor house.
Review: The STR-DE is a great starting point. HISTORY-Before this unit, I used (and still do) the Sony STR-D565. I liked the features it had considering the time it was made and it afforded me reliable listening enjoyment - and I bought it used.

Cons: No second room support...
The Bottom Line: It is cheap, can support every device imaginable and delivers great sound with a ton of features! I love it!
Review: I recently purchased this receiver very slightly used, and it has done nothing but blow me away. First of, at $399.00 MSRP (But easily found for a lot less), this is a very cheap reciever, especially for one of this caliber. You could easily spend...

Pros: Great sound especialy for movie
Cons: no output for additional amplified front speaker
The Bottom Line: An A/V Receiver worth to buy when it comes to home-movie purpose
Review: When I firstly installed the equipments (Sony STR-DE875,Sony DVD NS 700, and speakers package + Subwoofer of Sound Design Sweden) in my study room of a 3.5 x 4.5 m2 area. I found the sound that it created shockingly great as if the whole air in my room...

Review: The Sony STR-DE875, what can I say. I bought it like 4 years ago, when it was one of the most recent models, and still today kicks other receivers a..... It has never failed, the DTS sound it's amazing, I'm very happy with it, that I'm not worry to get a ...

Pros: Lots of features for fine tuning the sound to fit the room
Cons: Remote falls short in terms of "programmability"
The Bottom Line: Be not afraid. This is money not down the rat hole.
Review: Let's face it. Sony delivers the goods when it comes to respectable, value oriented consumer electronics. They even tempt the audiophiles among us with some very nice things if you can part with say an additional $1000 (Sony ES series components). The...

Pros: phono input, its a Sony, sounds great.
Cons: No front A/V inputs
The Bottom Line: I recommend this receiver for those on a fairly tight budget, looking for the performance of much more expensive receivers.
Review: The Sony STR-DE875 is a GREAT receiver. Especially for what I consider a very modest price tag. It comes with many features, like DTS, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic. It also comes with virtual 6.1 surround. At 100 watts per channel I have found...

Pros: Excellent performance, moderate price, a versatile system control center.
Cons: Overly complex interface, keep your instruction manual handy.
The Bottom Line: Excellent sound, versatile as an entertainment system control center but overly complex to operate.
Review: The Sony 875 is a do anything receiver which could serve as the control center for an entire home entertainment center. It has sufficient power for relatively inefficient speakers in a large room and is capable of delivering very clean sound. You wonder...

Pros: Great Inputs and outputs. Two Sub woofer inputs.
Cons: Broke within the first thirty days that I bought it.
The Bottom Line: Buy another receiver for a few bucks more
Review: When I first saw this receiver It really looked good and seemed to be loaded with digital and other hookups for upgrading your system. The operation instructions are a nightmare.
No information given about the, "unlock" display notice. Very... |
