Epinions I love my little bean

by  tknight78,  Feb 3, 2008
Pros: compact, great sound, great battery life, hooks up to usb to charge.
Cons: small display and you cant scroll through music titles when you are playing a song
The Bottom Line: If you want a durable MP3 player that is easy to use this is the one for you
Review: This is my first MP3 player and I think it is great. Especially if you are going to the gym or even in the car on long trips. The battery life is so long. Plus it is very durable. I have dropped this thing so many times but it is a sony you cant go ...

Epinions Good player limited by software

by  kyrane,  Jan 15, 2007
Pros: Onboard USB saves trouble of batteries and cable. Good sound quality, looks good
Cons: Its a Walkman -it requires Sonic Stage.
The Bottom Line: Altough the Walkmans ATRAC system is a general annoyance this is a decent lightweight player with the advantage of onboard USB.
Review: I used to be the proud owner of a 512MB Creative Zen Nano MP3 player but when that fell apart from overuse I went searching for a new MP3 player to accompany me pretty much everywhere I go. I saw the Walkman NW-E005 on a general shopping trip. I ...

Epinions Software, again, is limiting

by  moncureww,  Dec 26, 2007
Pros: High-quality and workmanship
Cons: Proprietary software
Review: I bought this mp3 player on a whim and frankly wish that I hadn't. I was used to mp3 players that actually play mp3's - this one makes you use the Sony software in order to transfer music to your mp3 player. Maybe Sony will get it down next time and use ...

Epinions Another serious limitation

by  dickholford,  Jan 5, 2007
Pros: Good sound quality (with Rev.2 firmware) Long battery life
Cons: Can only be charged from your computer
Review: We actually have a 1G Walkman, NW-E003, but what I have to say should apply to all this series. We discovered that they will not accept charge from a USB charger. They plug in and charging appears to take place, but after an hour the players battery ...

Epinions They ruined it!!!!

by  kal_el_2020,  Dec 26, 2006
Pros: displays a tiny icon of the album - cool, but not really useful.
Cons: new features are a step backwards
Review: I was an owner of an NWE507 and was very happy with it. I recently lost it and replaced it with a new NWS705F. First off the new version of SonicStage no longer allows you to create your own groups. Users now are only allowed to put music on the ...

Epinions Wow...truly horrible. Sony should know better....

by  tommytupa,  Dec 10, 2006
Pros: Good sound quality
Cons: Usability, Transferring, Software, Controls, FM-Tuner.
Review: Wow...what a horrible experience... from transferring files to the device, to navigating through the device, to the controls themselves. My opinion of Sony has gone way down that they'd allow the name Walkman to be put on a device like this. Even ...

Epinions Rendered Useless by Software

by  dougjames,  Oct 3, 2006
Pros: Excellent sound quality
Cons: Software means machine useless.
Review: I have the 1Gb Sony machine and it's excellent although the Sonicstage software is a real "belt and braces" affair. Still it works – just about. However, with the 2Gb machine, the software will not allow me to place the tracks from different CDs ...
