Epinions For those with deep pockets.

by  PenguinQX,  May 20, 2001
Pros: EVERY OPTION THERE IS!! Battery life, skip protection, size, weight!
Cons: Price! Remote is large, heavy, and hard to use.
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you're someone who needs the top of the line technology! It will last you forever if treated properly.
Review: I've owned 5 minidisc portables in my lifetime, and this unit is by far the most option laden unit I've come across! There is every option conceivable:

Record in standard mode, LP2, and LP4, long battery life (53 hours), end search, countdown...

Epinions The Price Certainly Justifies What You Get

by  TheNihcman,  May 26, 2001
Pros: Records, Super Small Size, MDLP, Battery, Adj. Playback Speed; ALL THE NEWEST STUFF
Cons: PRICE!!
The Bottom Line: It has ALL the newest and coolest features.. It won't be dated or replaced for at least two years.. Smallest recorder on the market right now...
Review: Being an avid minidisc fanatic, and owning more than 12 Minidisc portables within the past three years, I can safely say that the MZ-R900 is the best Sony MD portable recorder on the market right now.

A key feature that is becoming the newest...

Epinions The Best of the Best"."

by  sadpoti,  Oct 20, 2000
Pros: the best in everyway
Cons: minor personal preferences
Review: This being my eighth mini-disc player, I think that I am knowledgeable enough to talk about the mz-r900. I can honesty say that this is the best mini-disc player that I have had in my hands. It is the one with the most features and the one that I think...

Epinions The MZ-R900 is almost perfect....

by  corndoggz,  Mar 20, 2001
Pros: Excellent battery life, portable, many features
Cons: features are only accessible by menu, no separate line out
The Bottom Line: This is probably the best portable consumer level MD recorder available. It might not be the best for the money, but it's the most fully featured of them all.
Review: In the past couple of months, I've owned two Minidisc recorders: Sony's legendary MZ-R50 and their latest MZ-R900. The Minidisc format appealed to me because of its ease of recording my band's rehearsals and to listen to at the gym. The MZ-R50 worked...

Epinions Without reservation I can say this is the best MD player yet!

by  headspin303,  May 4, 2001
Pros: Long battery life, 4LP, excellent sound, easy to use remote,
Cons: You'll have to buy new headphones (that's all)
The Bottom Line: If you are thinking of buying an MD player then look no further.
Review: I previously owned the sony MZ-R70 MD player and I was never that happy with it. Thankfully the remote control broke and I was able to take it back and exchange it for the MZ-R900. I have to say now that I am completely blown away with the technology...

Epinions Feature packed and highly portable

by  ntech,  Oct 9, 2000
Pros: Feature packed, small, light, battery last forever
Cons: Not internationally available ..... YET
Review: The MZ-R900 is the first portable recorder that utilises the ATRAC3 compression (which allows you to record up to 160 minutes with the 80 minutes MD in stereo mode and a whooping 5 hours in mono recording mode). ATRAC 3 isn't really new because Sony have...

Epinions Get this for Christmas!

by  rich_belk,  Jun 13, 2001
Pros: The different long play modes and it is the smallest player/recorder around!
Cons: At $230 some might find it expensive.
The Bottom Line: If you have the money I strongly recommend that you by the MZR-900 Remember you are getting the smallest player around, feature packed and an excellent battery life.
Review: The Sony MZR-900 is the first mini disk player/recorder I have bought. It cost me around 200 pounds from the UK (I live there) in US dollars that’s about $250 but I am not sure if it will cost the same over there when it is released in June/July. On...

Epinions This is my dream machine... for now!

by  flying_lip,  Mar 15, 2001
Pros: The best money can buy; comprehensive 70-page user manual; MDLP
Cons: EARPHONES! no multi-voltage power supply; noisy mechanism; fiddly menu operation
The Bottom Line: If you want the best right now, THIS IS IT!
Review: I bought the R900 to replace my Sharp 821 on March 1st in Hongkong. Cost about US$320 from Sony Hong Kong or their authorised dealers. It's a UK/HK model with 230V power supply (we share the same mains socket), and comes with a 15 months local warranty...

Epinions MZ-R900 Minidisc Player -- Ready for Prime Time!

by  gadgetman2001,  Feb 5, 2001
Pros: Long battery life; excellent sound; nice remote control; beautiful design
Cons: Weak sound in long-play mode; ear-bud headphones
The Bottom Line: The MZ-R900 is a highly-evolved music machine, and will not disappoint demanding music lovers. Definitely consider this unit as an alternative to MP3 players!
Review: MINIDISC PLAYERS: THE BAD OLD DAYS

Epinions Do Features Justify the Cost?

by  kracyazn,  Jul 27, 2001
Pros: Excellent sound quality and nice features.
Cons: A bit costly when compared with other brands.
The Bottom Line: If you have the cash, get it, if not, look for Sharp's MT-77
Review: The MZ-R900 has actually been my second MD that I've owned yet so far. My first, was the Japanese model of Sharp's MT-77. At first glance, the Sony MZ-R900 looks like a very sleek and stylish MD with its shiny chrome covering. The looks don't lie......
