Author's Review

This is one of the most poorly designed pieces of technology around. A four-year old could have designed a more logical system of using this device. I am a huge fan of the Minidisc technology, and I own a standalone and two portable MDs. Therefore, this unit disappointed me greatly, and I believe Sony desperately needs to reasses its design teams. The remote works independently of the main unit - with two separate "Hold" buttons - and thus becomes highly problematic when the main unit is banging around in your bag (with the "Hold" off) and you're using the remote outside (which is just one of a plethora of problems.) Hyperbole aside, Sony's SonicStage transfer software is - by a mile - the worst piece of software ever designed. I won't bore anyone with detail, but do NOT depend on this software for your needs. (This obviously applies to other Sony devices, too, so be careful in choosing portable Sony devices these days!) Sony, please, wake up: Your design and software teams are strangling your great ideas!!
