Most Excellent Game
Pros:
Very realistic and has a great mouthwatering plot. By far my fave MG game ever.
Cons:
If you already have the original, why bother to buy Subsistence?
The Bottom Line:
I would buy this if you are a game fan or a MG fan. The game's amazing in so many ways, like the plot, the visuals and strategy.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence is just like the original MG3 video game with a few exceptions. In the original MG#, you play as Snake's father.... Snake... who later becomes the legendary Big Boss. The MG3 game sort of follows Big Boss' decline into "evil" or his way of betraying the USA, what with people defecting left and right and the sense of ultimate power he can get with the new Metal Gear plans developed by the Russians. I'm not giving anything away, this is all part of the beggining plot. So like in MG3, Snake does what he has to do to save the day from nuclear war and that is that. Well not really. Subsistence also has better graphics I am told, but I can't see it, the graphics are still pretty amazing, one of the best video game graphics games as it is. Also, there is a new feature where the makers of the MG series included some funny videos of the characters goofing around, plus a sneak peak trailer to the Metal Gear 4 game. The videos are slightly amusing and the trailer is not that informative, since all it really is is a comic duel between Snake and Raiden to see who will be the main character for the new MG4. Also included is the original Metal Gear games not released in the US until now. These older games featured on a separate disc are the original games that started the fad in Japan, and it will help any Metal Gear fan understand the history of Snake, like the whole Outer Heaven plot and it's beginings and the whole deal with Gray Fox. They are just like the MG games of today, you sneak around trying to be invisible to the enemy, but if you are seen, a lot of guys come shooting at you. At the end you must destroy Big Boss and the Metal Gear inside the Outer Heavens. These games may be dated but they are still fun to play really. The online mode is still the same, unchanged, which is perfect being it is an excellent online game playing system they have going.
By the way I forgot, the Subsistence MG game has a new difficulty level I am told, the European Extreme setting, where if you are even seen by the enemy the game is lost. Plus there are several new face paints, which ones, I don't know.
