Very good HDTV for it's era

by  liquid0623,   Sep 7, 2006

Pros:  The amazingly sharp picture although sometimes a little washed out

Cons:  no cable card slot...only one dvi input and no hdmi...the confusing menu and bad remote

This TV has a very sharp image, but compared to the new sets it's color is a little lacking. Watching the World cup on ESPN HD was pretty amazing. Also watching baseball on INHD.

The TV is a little outdated by only having on DVI imput and no cable card slot.

I still like this TV more than the DLP televisions. I just think the picture is sharper. I owned a Samsung DLP, but sold it b/c I just didn't like the picture.

I used a Marantz SR5300 receiver with Dolby 5.1 so I ran the digital sound connection right to the receiver bypassing the TVs speakers. For it's time this TV was very grand, but in 2006 the TV is kind of dated. The picture is very sharp, but there are better sets out there like the newer Sonys: the 60xs955 and the SXRDS which are really amazing.

the TVs internal menu is confusing and the expensive looking useless remote is quite puzzling.
