Very handy! Sony Handycam DCR-DVD105 DVD Camcorder

Every minute of your life counts, and we make it count with the help of Sony. One evening we were in Best Buy, with the intent of just browsing, and while trying out different camcorders to purchase, we found the Sony Handycam.

It is a small handheld camera that is in Mini-Dvd format. When you videotape your fun family days, concerts, parties, weddings, etc, you can record them to DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, and when you want to watch them you can play them back on the camera, your dvd player, computer and Playstation 2 even!
There are several features that help you create memories that are ready-to-go for interacting, such as "digital still capture" which enables you to email or print out and still bring lifelike pictures that do not look fuzzy or grainy. I like that it has the same features that a digital camera has, in case you do not want to lug around both a camcorder and a camera to whatever event you are attending. We have other camcorders at home, but they are slightly outdated by this standard.

First things, when you are shooting your filming, you can see exactly what you are looking at through the 2.5" LCD screen that allows you to record and then play back to see whether or not you want to keep the footage. It swivels slightly at different angles, so you are not limited to viewing. You are empowered with an amazing 680K pixels that captures beautiful colors and about 500 lines of resolution for eye catching details. The lens power is very advanced and is a "Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar" with a 20x optical lens that zooms in at 800x.

The graphics of colors and likeness that this camera catches is gorgeous! Very crisp and clear! The sound comes in loud and clear, and the battery lasts well over 2 hours before having to be charged again!

Another feature that is beyond the call of duty is the Super Nightshot Infrared System that does not blur or shadow in low lit rooms or areas. We have videotaped school concerts at night that have dark audience rooms, and had perfect lighting even though the stage was the only area lit. Our other cameras would cause dark shadows and we would not get very good results. Now, we have no worries. This camera also comes with Super Steady Shot that actually has motion sensors to ease the bumping and moving of your arm or hand and does it's best to keep your filming smooth and without all of the juggling each and everytime you move. That is a big issue for me. Every video we had prior, had given us a headache to watch due to the waving around of the camera and unsteady view of what would normally be a perfect video taping. I would have to say that a professional could use this and have perfect results.

This Sony is very easy to use, and not heavy, making it easy to hold for long periods of time, such as a wedding, or graduation. The picture is so clear it is document-making worthy. If you want a camera that has everything, this is the one!
