The Bottom Line: If you desire a personal that packs a Radio tuner, a brilliant shock proofing system, is easy to use and sounds great; it can be granted.
Review: PORTABLE MEDIA has took of a storm over the last few years, ever since Personal CD players came out, everyone wanted to listen to their favourite albums on the move. By today’s standards CD personals are the largest of the available mediums you can...

Epinions Sony D-FJ401

by  JiggyJay,  May 31, 2003
Pros: Great sound quality, reasonable price, gravity protection, small
Cons: When you press stop, it pauses, headphones are cheap, opens from the side, fuzzy noise
The Bottom Line: Buy it because you know you want one...
Review: I love the portable technology these days. MP3’s are popular, but CDs gain the big mainstream bucks and they are certainly my favorite media. The D-FJ401 is the second portable CD player that I’ve had. My other one was a D-E451 and it was old...

Review: After my previous Walkman broke, I needed to replace it. I researched here on epinions and planned on buying the Sony DF-200 model. When I went to the store, the TV and Weather bands on the D-FJ401 model caught my eye. It was a bit more expensive, but...

Epinions Nice Quality Unit - and some thoughts on CD player versus other formats

by  wit-for-brains,  Feb 22, 2003
Pros: sleek attractive design, light, doesn't skip, radio tuner included,
Cons: no remote
The Bottom Line: THis is everything I hoped it would be. Highly Recommended. Well-built, durable, sounds great. Skip the junk and come out ahead in the long run!
Review: I essentially agree with all the previous reviews, so I will spare you re-stating what they said. (Hat's off to Michael Hatton's review. Wow!)

First, let me briefly say this SOny D-FJ401 is very impressive- all its features work great. It has...

Epinions Well worth the extra $$

by  gueeds,  Mar 3, 2003
Pros: Great sound, great reception, feature-rich, DOES NOT SKIP!
Cons: Buttons are a bit small, line out doesn't have same features
The Bottom Line: If you are going to be on the go a lot, definitely check this one out because of its features
Review: Shelling out the extra money for this particular model was justified. Having a FM,AM,TV, and weatherband along with a great CD player that doesn't skip is a treat for anyone on the move. The FM and AM reception is great, I can get stations my home stereo...

Epinions Excellent CD/Radio Walkman, some minor faults but better than most others

by  coxquehanna,  Dec 5, 2002
Pros: 4 bands (AM/FM/VHF TV/Weather), long battery life, rarely skips CD's
Cons: Too many overall presets, easy to hit the wrong button when playing CD's
The Bottom Line: Even giving the minor design flaws, this player gives a good bang for its buck. Given the sound quality and tuner sensitivity, it is worth the money.
Review: It's been about 8 months since I originally did this review, and in that time I went through a lot with the D-FJ401. Out of that, I've updated this review to reflect the 9 months I got out of this player.

When it first came out, Sony's...

Epinions Technical problems

by  thatgirl009,  Jan 11, 2003
Pros: Beautiful streamlined design, easy controls, weather bands, TV audio
Cons: Defective headphone plug and audio control on mine
The Bottom Line: The jury is still out until I go get a replacement and see if it develops the same problems that this one had.
Review: I received this Walkman for Christmas this year. Within a week or so of light use, there was a slight crackling that was audible whenever the headphone plug is touched. Also, the volume control completely stopped working - the volume is stuck at a...
