Over a year ago, we had purchased a Sony CD player, model E307CK. It cost about $90. The CK designator indicates that it comes with a car kit. this car kit includes a power cord so it can be powered from the accessory jack, and the cassette adapter so the sound can come through the car stereo system. the package also includes headphones.
It worked wonderfully. It lasted about 10 hours on 2 AA batteries. It has the Mega Bass circuitry, so you can really boost the lows if you want to. It also has electronic Shock Protection, or ESP, so as to ride through shakes of the road. ESP is actually 10 seconds of memory. When you listen to a CD with the ESP on, you are hearing music that it read 10 seconds earlier. If there is a skip or bump, it just keeps playing out of memory until things smooth out again.
Unfortunately, my daughter dropped it getting out of the car on to the road. The bottom line... it died. I wasn't pleased. I had lost my CD player.
Anyway, in the last few months, I have seen and purchased this unit again. now it is available for $60! This is a steal. The car adapter parts alone are worth about $20 if you bought them separately.
You can't go wrong with this CD player, especially for the money!
