Better than average camera FOR THE PRICE
Pros:
Cost for features, burst picture setting
Cons:
Picture quality, exclusive ProDuo storage cards that cant be read used in anything else
The Bottom Line:
I will keep it and probably enjoy it despite its shortcomings, but I cant suggest it to anyone else at this time.

Author's Review
For the price I think this is a good camera-- good enough for my amateur needs, but I have serious issues with its picture quality. I got it on sale at Best Buy for $210. I researched CNET and Epinions and both had reviews (albeit not many) with similar "poor picture quality" mentioned. I was impressed with its burst pictures capability (its VERY fast), but I have not had luck getting a solid picture of my boy running-- they are still blurry (perhaps thats improper ISO speed?). Either way, its not a bad camera, but I immediately took it out of the box and took pictures of my daughter with BOTH my new W90 and my older 4megapixel Sony and fed them into the laptop. NO difference could be seen by myself or my wife, which may not have been all that strange at full size. I did think it was very strange that when I zoomed the same amount on both pictures there was no difference at all!! WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING DOUBLE THE MEGAPIXELS IF YOU CANT SEE ANY DIFFERENCE??? I thought, perhaps I am looking at the same picture and I double checked each files properties (it listed what camera took each pic and the pixel counts in dimensions). Nope, thats not it either. I dont think I am asking too much to be able to see a difference in picture quality between a 3yr old camera of half the pixel count and the new one, but what do I know.
I will say the features help make up for it and I bought the camera because of those features. DO NOT expect to take any decent pictures in low light settings, I dont care what Sony advertizes, its not going to happen. I have tried and tried and there is not a human being that can hold that camera steady enough to pull it off. It comes out like crap every time, a completely unusable photo.
My other problem with this camera I partially expected when I bought it. Having an older Sony I knew I had to buy THEIR Duo storage cards, which are a bit pricier than normal SD cards and get even more expensive if you want Sonys advertized transfer rates & burst shooting. However, I found out I couldnt use my OLD ProDuo card from my previous Sony because they have changed and I had to buy ANOTHER exclusive card. Why do I say exclusive? Because not only can you not use these cards in any other cameras, but after purchasing it and partially filling up my new 4gb card I found out the hard way it is drastically undersized compared to other SD cards and WILL NOT read in a common card reader. ITS NOT COOL TRYING TO TWEEZER A $60 CARD FROM THE FRONT OF YOUR LAPTOP because it doesnt fit the same places its predecessor does.
This is beginning to depress me because I didnt realize how many things I did not like about the camera until I started this evaluation. Lastly, the battry. My wife took the camera to Disneys Princess on Ice (or something like that) with my 4yo daughter. The battery ran out on this thing before the show was over. To be fair she took a lot of video and accumulated 670mb's of pics & short videos, but I didnt expect her to kill in one session after the other ppl on here made it sound like it lasted 2-3 weeks on vacation. A second battery is a serious consideration, especially since the charger takes a few hours (not really a problem, but something to keep in mind with only one battery).
