Author's Review

I've had my 5050 for over 10 years. I bought it at
Wal-mart for under $200.00 My "good" Singer machine, broke right at the holiday season and I had to finish THE party dress. When I bought the 5050, I had every intention of going back to my "good" machine, after it was repaired. I never did. I loved the 5050. The "good" machine became the "old extra" machine. I don't know why the other poster found it difficult to thread. I can have it done in less than 3 seconds. I've been sewing for over 30 years and made curtains, quilts, all types of clothing and tote bags on the 5050. It has an overlock stitch that is real helpful on raveling seams. I get it serviced about once a year. I love it. I'm actually looking for another one to keep on hand. I guess they don't make them anymore, because I haven't had any luck in coming across one.
