This is not my life, this is not my home, I hate this!
Pros:
Occasional mindless tricked-out fun.
Cons:
General laziness and apathy in game design.
The Bottom Line:
Activision`s cynical excercise in money-making has a minor
fun-factor.

Author's Review
I bought this game used for dirt cheap as a low cost
replacement for Tony Hawk. Much to my chagrin, Tony was discounted shortly after I bought it.It`s just as well. If I
had gotten Tony, something else would have come along.
The best short description of this I can give is "Tony
Hawk`s Pro Skater rip-off made by the same company". There you
have it. You can read on for details if you like, but if you know anything about 'Pro Skater' as well as video game buissness politics in general, then you have a damn good idea
what 'Pro Snowboarder' is like.
Still with me? Fine. In this one, you take control of
several famous(but not to me) professional snowboarders. You can then take them for a ride down one of many famous(but again, not to me) real-world slopes. The basic gameplay, like
all extreme sports/Tony Hawk derivatives, is to trick your
brains out and achieve trick combos for a high score. Fortunately, the tricks system here is based on Tony`s.Unfortunately, it`s apparently a very stripped down,
clunky version of it, with response times being fairly slow,
and a general lack of good tricks. Your snowboarder tends to
feel like he`s in water, so that you are usually in the middle of a trick when you hit the cold, unforgiving ground.
The course design is uneven with some stages having
too few interesting obstacles, while others have a ridiculous amount of grinds, half-pipes, and other dull doo-dads you`ll never use.
Graphically, the game looks about as good as you
would expect a lower eschelon me-too title to look. The snowboarders themselves usually look chunky and stiff,at least up close, but the default camera view is far enough away to make them look alright. The levels look as uninteresting as they play, with flat repetitive textures.
They didn`t even make the snow look good.
The audio, however, is a whole other matter entirely.
This game has a hilariously bad soundtrack, featuring bands(Supersucker,Static X)that make up for their lack
of musical talent by playing very loudly. A couple of
the tracks are decent, but, for the most part, the lyrics
amusingly stupid. The dumbest(and therefore, funniest)is
the title of this review.
In the end, perhaps I`m being just a tad too
harsh with ol` Shaun Palmer. All this game set out to
do was make money for Activision`s O2 extreme sports
franchise. It can be entertaining, once in a while, to
see how many tricks you can link together, however, the
game has too many serious flaws to ignore
