Epinions I love this TV

by  catchnthieves,  Sep 27, 2004
Pros: Stunning picture in all situations. Great looking addition to room.
Cons: I have not run into anything that even remotely could be considered a con.
The Bottom Line: This is simply an amazing TV and very easy for non videophiles to set up properly. Also, looks amazing in the family room.
Review: Ok so I am not an audio or videophile but I do know a good picture on a TV when I see one. I recently got this TV at Costco for 3,499.00. My wife and I brought it home and it was light enough for the two of us to get it one flight of stairs easily. Set ...

Epinions Unbelievable picture!

by  markusby,  Aug 19, 2004
Pros: Unreal picture quality. Rich colors, warm skin tones, and no "screen door" effect!
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: I can't recommend this TV enough. If you want a great set with great technology, this one is for you.
Review: I struggled long and hard with the decisions on which TV to purchase. The first one I looked at was the 50" Samsung DLP; the picture quality was incredible and much brighter and richer than other 50" TV's in this price range. The only problem is, I ...

Epinions Truly Awesome

by  pararescue,  Feb 4, 2005
Pros: Design, HDTV and DVD picture, lots of inputs.
Cons: Standard cable TV picture, delay in Xbox games.
The Bottom Line: If you have HDTV and you watch a lot of DVD's this is an awesome TV. If you want it for Xbox then you should look somewhere else!
Review: After much research I decided on a DLP and the Samsung looked the best at the various showrooms I went to. It looks even better in my house! The picture with HD and DVD's is simply amazing but the standard cable picture is actually worse than ...

Epinions Money well spent

by  naivegeek,  Sep 6, 2004
Pros: Picture quality is incredible.
Cons: -Can't split the screen (50/50) with PIP for the TV and the computer.
The Bottom Line: Checked several TV's and this is the best picture quality I saw.
Review: I have been waiting for a few years to buy an HDTV that had a worthwhile picture and a good price. After I saw the Samsung HLP6163w at Tweeter, I fell in love. I ended up buying it at Sears because of a sale and price match plus 10% of the ...

Epinions Yeah baby!

by  buggsy_2k,  Oct 27, 2004
Pros: Huge! Perfect DVD viewing, simple setup.
Cons: I don't love the remote control, it doesn't work with any of my components.
The Bottom Line: A must have, compared to others in its class it ROCKS! I rated durability 3 because I don't know yet. Sound was OK, but I run it through my stereo.
Review: I spent a lot of time in several stores looking at 50 or 60 different big screen TVs. I looked at the standard rear projection, DLP, LCD and plasma. The standard rear projection TV just are just crappy, when compared to the other three so this one ...

Epinions Best purchase I've ever made,

by  agaskill,  Sep 22, 2005
Pros: Clarity of picture, simple menus, instant coolness factor.
Cons: Mystery "popping" sound.
The Bottom Line: Buy it, may I suggest the stand at Sears that matches.
Review: I know it sounds too good to be true, but this set is unbelievable! I shopped around for what seemed to be the better part of a year. I've had this TV now for 5 months and still am in awe watching the HD channels and DVD's. The picture on this is ...

Epinions This TV will not disappoint

by  matt8268,  Feb 11, 2005
Pros: Incredible picture. Brilliant colors. Very respectable black levels. 2 digital inputs.
Cons: Haven't found any yet (but I've only had it a couple weeks).
The Bottom Line: Buy this TV, it's best of breed.
Review: This set has a simply beautiful picture after calibration (my friend did it with a calibration DVD in 30 minutes). The colors are especially brilliant. My friend has a Samsung HLN617W (I liked his TV so decided to stick with Samsung), and the major ...

Epinions Great HDTV

by  B5552,  Feb 12, 2005
Pros: Great picture, lots of inputs connections.
Cons: None found yet.
Review: I did a reasonable amount of research on big screen TV's. Plasma, DLP, LCD, etc. Although not a video geek, I wanted the best picture for the money. We love the Samsung. It has an awesome picture. The hook up is simple. I connected the TV/cable box to my ...

Epinions Great TV

by  y2khardtop,  Sep 2, 2005
Pros: Great price for size, great picture.
Cons: limited HD format adjustents.
Review: Love this unit. Price is great for the size, and looks totally awesome in HD! I agree that the picture looks fuzzy in Standard Definity, but I think it is simply because the picture is soooo big. Also, during the day, the picture fades a little (I ...

Epinions AWESOME ! what else can be said. great price and worth the money

by  padevilman,  Jan 7, 2006
Pros: great picture quality, even with standard def. if hooked up correctly
Cons: doing the research as to how to use standard definition and have a good picture.
Review: This set is absolutely worth every penny, even standard definition DirecTV using coax playback on ch3 on tv tuner, is very acceptable,(makes the picture much clearer)as it doesn't have to down convert signal. DVD's great using component video.and ...
