Epinions Solved my problem!

by  tammyinmiami,  May 26, 2001
Pros: Great rice cooker. Durable. Hasn't failed me yet!
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Use this rice cooker and you'll never have another burned grain again!
Review: Well, I will have to start out by admitting that while I can cook virtually anything , I perpetually burned rice! I don't know why, I guess we all have that one thing we just can't get right in the kitchen. My mother suggested a rice...

Epinions Takes the Guesswork Out of Cooking Rice

by  ecohousekeeper,  Jan 19, 2008
Pros: Safer than cooking rice on the stove top. Amateur cooks can now make good rice.
Cons: Leaves a wet mess on the counter top.
The Bottom Line: I recommend buying this if you have trouble making good rice on the stove top. It takes the guess-work out, and gives consistently good rice if you measure accurately.
Review: Before I had the Salton Rice Cooker I could not get the rice to come out right. Usually it was sticky and the wrong consistency. Plus I had to stand by the stove the whole time to make sure that the water didn't boil over and cause a kitchen fire! ...

Epinions Salton RA3 3-Cup Rice Cooker

by  alp40,  Jan 8, 2008
Pros: Small enough for two people, cooks up to 3 cups, cooks perfect every time.
Cons: The tiny hole in the lid makes steam spray out and gets the area wet.
The Bottom Line: This is ideal for people who don't have to use a big pan to cook a small amount of rice. It's simple to use and cooks to perfection each time.
Review: I bought my rice cooker because I wanted a small pan to cook the rice since I only cook for two now. With a built in timer, I do not have to hang around the kitchen to make sure the rice doesn't burn when the water runs out. This appliance shuts off ...

Epinions A Mini-Rice Cooker -- Asian Tested and Approved

by  gsalelanonda,  Nov 27, 2000
Pros: It cooks perfect rice and is small enough for the single person / couple
Cons: It's kinda ugly and very traditional (for the asian household)
Review: Lets face it. There are two kinds of rice cookers out there: the kind you find in upscale department stores and the kind you find in the traditional, 'stinky' asian markets. While this Chinese-made cooker might find its way into the former type of store,...

Epinions Did the trick!

by  visamom,  Jun 3, 2005
Pros: inexpensive, convenient, compact
Cons: not non-stick
The Bottom Line: For singles and small families who want an inexpensive, easy, and nearly foolproof way to cook rice, look no further.
Review: I bought this product (under the White Westinghouse name -- same company) at least 7 years ago when I was a single (and poor) student. It served me (and my now husband and son) very, very well until last night when it bit the dust! I would make ...

Epinions Darned good for the money

by  zanesmom,  May 21, 2005
Pros: Price
Cons: Doesn't keep rice warm
Review: I recently purchased this rice cooker - we love rice & for years I'd gotten by on the 'boiling bags'... but the price on this was too good to pass up. The first time I used the cooker, I ended up turning it off before the rice had completely cooked ...

Epinions It is worth your money to get a higher quality cooker!

by  sandiegan,  Sep 18, 2002
Pros: Small and cooks the perfect amount for 2-3 people
Cons: Very messy and the rice dries out
The Bottom Line: Don't recommend this TOO basic cooker because it is messy, difficult to clean, and the rice often comes out dry!
Review: Looks:
The rice cooker itself is compact and lightweight. It is about 6 inches x 6 inches. The interior container is lightweight aluminum and has markings on the side to help you measure the proper amount of rice and water. As far as...

Epinions A good starter

by  risu-chan,  Aug 21, 2005
Pros: Good size for single person, cooks well
Cons: Rice often sticks in mine, making it hard to clean; too small for parties
The Bottom Line: If you only need a little rice or dislike nonstick liners, you'll like this machine and its low price. If you like non-stick surfaces, get a non-stick cooker.
Review: If you're a single or two-person household looking for your first rice cooker, this one will probably do you nicely. I've had mine for about a decade now and it's still running fine. However, because mine's a decade old, it doesn't have a non-stick...

Epinions Convenient!

by  junkot,  Oct 28, 2001
Pros: Cooks fast, size, price.
Cons: unable to keep warm.
The Bottom Line: Easy to use, affordable.
Review: I'm Asian, I eat rice everyday, but my little rice cooker that my friend gave to me was broken, so I was looking for new one to buy. I live in USA only for temporary as an international student, so I didn't need a big, heavy, high-tech one. This...

Epinions Don't Bother

by  chelbell,  Dec 16, 2000
Pros: cheap
Cons: hard to clean
The Bottom Line: It really depends on your needs. If you need quick and dirty simple rice cooker, it's fine. If you need a little babysitting on the cleanup, hold out for non-stick.
Review: UPDATED 4/11/2004 I bought this product because I liked eating rice, but wanted to find an easier way to make it. I knew someone who had a rice cooker and I thought it would be convenient. I had seen other, more expensive brands, but bought this one ...
