Author's Review
I paid a visit to my brother this past weekend.
I've got the hots for his old lady, but she despises
me. Their boy had a Game Boy Color, which he was
extremely enamored of, and which he was glued to
at all times. I thought it was a fantastic little
gadget, so I "borrowed" it while he wasn't looking.
Promptly afterwards, I bid them farewell and returned
home with my loot. As of this writing, that little
sh*t is still probably searching frantically through
the house for it. Well screw him, my brother got
him one of them Super Nintendos a couple of years
back, he can enjoy that. For Christmas I'll get
him a furby or something.
It wasn't until I returned home, that I discovered
that Pokeman Yellow was installed in this system.
I'm no spring chicken, but even I can tell you that
this game is HOT right now. Now my experience with
such high-tech electronics is limited, but I have
logged countless hours at my local Best Buy playing
their free videogame displays. I was rather tickled
by the fact that I could play the game by simply
flicking the 'on' switch on the Game Boy unit. Whew!
I thought maybe I had to install it on the hard
drive or something or another.
I must admit that the whole Pokeman idea is new
to me. After a couple of hours of playing however,
I became obsessed. Playing through the night, until
the sun came up, I absorbed the game with girlish
delight. The batteries lasted quite long, apparently
my brother's kid had just put in some fresh ones.
My co-workers the next day had no idea the amount
of fun that I enjoyed the night before. You begin
the game traveling with what I can only describe as
a yellow rat, named Pekacho. This is no ordinary
rat, however, as I soon discovered Pekchu's ability
to expel lightning. Fantastic!! The game only
became more compelling as I soon acquired Balbusaur,
Rattata, and Jigglypuff. The amount of different
critters the game had to offer was mindblowing.
Evolution of certain Pokeman adds to the complexity
of it all as well. I'm probably far from completing
this game right now, but I'm loving every minute
of it. I feel silly saying this, but I don't care,
I'm just going to say it, "I choose you, Pekchu!!
