Will Nintendo ever stop releasing addictive products? I hope not! This is the third version of the Gameboy game. In the Yellow version, you start at home in your room in front of a Nintendo game system (go figure). After making your way outside, you find the small town, called Pallet Town. You grew up in this surrounding. To get started, try to leave the town. This will start a sequence of events that will get you started. I am about half way through the game at this point, and thoroughly enjoying the adventure to become the Greatest Trainer in the World.

The Yellow version is based on the TV Series. Where your first Pokemon is, you guessed it, a Pikachu. Just like the TV Series, this Pikachu will not evolve, and will follow you around everywhere you go. Also, you cannot catch all 150 Pokemon without some trading. Therefore, you will have to trade with a friend to complete your Pokedex.

As you work through the game, your Pokemon will earn experience in battle. Eventually, they will begin to move up in levels. It seems that for most Pokemon that evolve in the game, the magic number is 16. Once level 16 is reached, most Pokemon will evolve into a more powerful form. This helps with completing your Pokedex. Professor Oak, remember, gives you the quest of filling your Pokedex with information on every Pokemon.

Overall, I really enjoy the game. Eventually, I will play every version, but for now, I am hopelessly addicted to this version of the game. Anyone who loves the Pokemon craze will enjoy playing this version of the game. I would recommend getting the N64 version of Pokemon Stadium to complement the Pokemon Yellow game.
