Addicted

I have a 6 year old who is fixated on ANYTHING Pokemon. I began to hate them. However, we bought our son a Gameboy and the Pokemon pinball and I must say that I am now addicted. This is not as simplistic as it appears. The basic premise of pinball prevails, but there are tricks to be learned and Pokemon to be caught. One cannot simply play this without getting caught up in why things happen the way they do in the game. For example, the object is to catch as many Pokemon as possible. However, once done the next step is to evolve them, but to evolve them requires a certain play of the ball. Individual Pokemon can only be obtained in specific areas of the game, and usually these Pokemon are rare. While reading/writing this it sounds silly. But to play the game it takes on a whole new meaning. These "tricks" and rules are somewhat intricate, but not to the point where a child is overwhelmed. I actually believe this has given me a new appreciation for Pokemon and it has opened up a world of fun for my son, wife and me to share. Well worth the price for the fun.
