by  bluendpink,  Jun 22, 2001
Pros: Faster running than the previous versions,Better Colors,New Pokemon,Great Console Game
Cons: Music and Sound Effects,Cost,Takes all your free time
The Bottom Line: Almost every person who likes, more or less, consoles is going to feel like he/she hadn't lost money for nothing...
Review: Since I was a fan of the older Pokemon versions,I decided to buy this one too.It turned out to be a really great game, much improved from the last Pokemon attempts. The gameplay, colors and speed of this version look nothing like the other console...

Epinions Another one????

by  JiggyJay, top reviewer in Games ,  May 10, 2002
Pros: Great Gameplay
Cons: Sound gets annoying, ANOTHER POKEMON GAME!!!
The Bottom Line: This game is a great game that every Pokemon gamer should have in their collection.
Review: Pokemon is one of my favorite series, video game wise. I’ve never watched the shows, movies, or any of the N64 games and I never plan to. The Game Boy games are so fun. They are the reason why I got hooked on Pokemon in the first place. I bought that...

Epinions A Mom's view of the PokeCraze

by  CherryRipe,  Oct 19, 2000
Pros: Actually is quite interesting. Surprisingly good graphics. Fun for a while
Cons: Tinny sound. Still FAR too over-rated
Review: I am the first to admit that the gameboy has never been my area of gaming preference. Far from it, I usually try to stay as far as possible away from it. Something about the graphical limitations always turned me off I suppose and I always looked upon...

Epinions All the pretty colors...

by  ryansmommy,  Jan 8, 2001
Pros: new stuff
Cons: seems like the same game sorta
Review: Whether you play red, blue, yellow, silver or gold, it's still basicly the same game. You have a foe, you catch the critters, you become pokemon master. Only this time it's in color!!!!! Why they didn't make the other games in color is beyond me....

Epinions Pokemon gold: not a big catch

by  asamanh,  Dec 10, 2001
Pros: storyline
Cons: childish in a way, sound, gameboy graphics
The Bottom Line: Just if you have a long wait or a long plane ride and nothing to do.
Review: Pokemon gold like all of the pokemon games isn’t all bad. Everyone says how childish it is and you either love them or hate them. I disagree with both statements. Yes, the game might be geared toward younger audiences but that doesn’t mean us older...

Epinions Pokemon gold-the world pops off your gameboy!

by  flambambrew,  Apr 26, 2001
Pros: Uses strategy and keeps you playing for hours.
Cons: Not so well animated.
The Bottom Line: Pokemon gold is for ages 4 to 10, and is good for some entertainment.
Review: Pokemon started years ago with the read, blue, then yellow games. Then, for the nintendo Pokemon stadium came out. But, more recently the long awaited Pokemon gold came out with all new Pokemon. The game is fairly simple to under stand. Ash Ketchum, the...

Epinions Blue and Red all over again

by  foghorn,  Mar 11, 2001
Pros: All the gameboy pokemon games are better than the N64 pokemon games.
Cons: Storyline seems to resemble the Blue and Red versions of this game.
The Bottom Line: Unless you are a pokemaniac you should probubly avoid this game because of the similarities between the Blue and Red with the Gold and Silver.
Review: I was a fan of the original pokemon games on gameboy, they were new and intriging and at least a little challenging. That has changed because while the Gold pokemon game may still be fairly difficult the storyline hasn't changed too terrible much....

Epinions Over 151 different versions......

by  PacDan,  Feb 22, 2001
Pros: Exactly the same as blue, red, yellow
Cons: Exactly the same as blue, red, yellow
The Bottom Line: Its the same as Blue, Yellow and Red, but a diffent color.
Review: I can't see why this is a top selling game. Sure, it's fun, but it has ABSOLUTELY no improvements over the Blue Version. It looks like it's running the same engine, with colour. The map is boring and predicatable, especially after you've played Blue,...
