RPG with a twist

This is a younger version of Final Fantasy, another popular RPG from Japan. FF happens to be one of my favorite games of all time, and Pokemon lives up to the model. Although this game claims to be for gameboy Color, the colors are notably lacking. Other than this, the game is quite involving, has a detailed, often deeply puzzling storyline, and is filled with interesting monsters and moves to teach them. It may be pushed as a kids' toy, but it will take hold of anyone young or old. I am 20 and I got it as a gift and haven't stopped playing it since. Even after you have gotten to "The End" there is still more to find and do, in fact, somethings only open once the game is supposedly over. Add this to the fact that different games can be played against each other and traded with, and Pokemon becomes a sure win. This game will be around long after the fad is over. It is appropriate for all ages, but some reading skills are required. None of the monsters "die" in battle, they "faint", and when your player is beaten, he "blacks out" to awaken in a safe place.
