Lots of static, looses bond often

This is my first blue tooth headset. I think its very comfortable and easy to use but the static is annoying. I get static most of the time using it but not always. If I hold the phone up to the earpiece, it goes away...but that defeats the purpose of hands free! It also looses its bond with my Motorola V557 quite often. Not sure if another headset would be much better or not. I'm disappointed.
