Disappointing Image Quality

This camera was purchased to take snapshots at the beach and the pool, and fortunately seems to live up to the waterproof claim. Unfortunately the picture quality is disappointing.
The autofocus is slow and often inaccurate - expect lots of blurry pics and missed shots, especially of fast moving subjects (like kids and fish.)
The exposure control offer many options - none of which seem to work all that well. Expect lots of blown highlights and dark shadows.
Low light performance is marginal - images are very grainy in low light and high ISO. Images suffer from "purple fringe" artifacts.
The charger requires a cord - a poor design that takes up a lot of room.
Overall the camera is just ok for snapshots at the pool or beach, but don't expect any great images. At 7 MP you can make some nice enlargements, but you probably will not want to.
