Pros: Excellent sound (with proper headphones), quality, great ASM, plays scratched CDs
Cons: Volume control looks cheap
The Bottom Line: This model is a very good CD player. And if you want better sound, you can always get better headphones.
Review: Although Panasonic SL-SX270A CD player is the cheapest CD player from Panasonic, it is not by any means limited in features and sound quality.

The CD player has 40 seconds of Anti-Shock Memory. Even with...

Epinions Solid and portable

by  hbj200,  Nov 10, 2000
Pros: Very portable, inexpensive, great sound output on hi-fi stereos, very user-friendly, stylish, superb anti-skip system, made in Japan
Cons: None significant
Review: The SL-SX270 is a basic portable CD player. There aren't many fancy features, just your basic play-and-go functionalities. Since I only wanted an inexpensive, good portable CD player, the SL-SX270 fit the bill perfectly and has exceeded my...

Review: This is basically my first venture into the world of portable music. I was looking for a decent player of some sort to play my tunes on. I looked at Mini-disks, MP3 players, and CD players. Based on how much I needed and how much money I had, I decided...

by  bigjohnsonmix1,  Apr 17, 2001
Pros: Just about Everything
Cons: digital screen non-luminating
The Bottom Line: Excellent cd player. I love it and I would recommend it to anyone because it's rather inexpensive, compact, and durable. Very good product!
Review: One major factor that played a role in me buying this type of cd player, was the price. I actually bought it on sale at Circuit City for $54.99 as opposed to their retail price of $62.99. It was money well spent. It came with a car kit(cigarette...

by  mza,  Dec 30, 2000
Pros: Sound!
Cons: N/A
Review: I recently went on a seemingly endless hunt for the "right" personal CD player that would both suit my needs and fulfill my wants. My search began with a Christmas gift of a Sony D-E200. I was very displeased with this player. First of all...

Epinions A great choice

by  alectosis,  Apr 20, 2001
Pros: Great skip protection, good battery life, EQ settings better than most, small, lightweight
Cons: Poor headphones
The Bottom Line: While there isn't anything absolutly outstanding about this player, there certainly isn't anything wrong.
Review: I'd like to consider myself and audiophile (someone very criticle of music), but I don't have alot of cash. So I was in search of a CD player that might bring the level of enjoyment that I get listening to expensive stereo systems.
I did...

Epinions Make a $50 investment last several years

by  brunildu,  Feb 10, 2002
Pros: Cheap, reliable, excellent battery life, good sound, no skipping whatsoever.
Cons: doesn't come with a modem (kidding)Like most CD players headphone is poor.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking just for a CD player and want it to be good, that's it. Mine has lasted 3 years of use and abuse.
Review: Even though I am starting to hate Panasonic brand, I could not allow my Bias to take over me on writing this review, this is a great player.

I bought this model when it had just come out, perhaps 3 years ago, but I am not 100% sure.

Epinions These days Panasonic is the way to go!

by  soccerfoo,  Mar 14, 2001
Pros: Durability, Design, Price, Skip Protection, Sound Quality, Plays Burned CD's
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: It's a fine portable CD player that compliments Panasonic's ability to produce desirable electronics very well.
Review: I have purchased at least a half dozen different CD players in the last 5 years and none would have stood up to this one. Of course, maybe that isn't the most fair of comparisons since technology has been enhanced substantially for portable CD players...

Epinions Functional, Attractive, Useful

by  mjwise,  Dec 27, 2000
Pros: great battery life, attractive but not gimmicky, reliable, functional
Cons: mediocre head phones, only one analog output, "Train" equalization sounds terrible
Review: I read around a lot, including at epinions, and decided that this player was what I was looking for. I purchased it from an online retailer. I immediately liked the attractive, not gimmicky and tacky, color and trim of this CD player. I was impressed...

Pros: 40-second Antiskip, Great quality, Fast, ETC!
Cons: I don't have any!
Review: I must say, I absolutely LOVE it. I've had it for only a couple of weeks, but the thing is amazing. Before this one, I had a CRAIG with NO Anti-skip, sucked the batteries like crazy, and just didn't sound very good. This was one of the original...
