Pros: the lens.
Cons: noise
The Bottom Line: Best buy.
Review: Well, i have just purchased the Panasonic FZ50 for about 3 weeks now, after about 600 test shots with it i have come to a conclusion that this FZ50 is by far the best FZ i've ever own. I have owned FZ7, FZ10, FZ15, FZ20(2), FZ30 and now FZ50, its no ...

Epinions great camera--you won't be disappointed

by  myeopinion4u,  Jan 29, 2007
Pros: 12X zoom, raw mode, lcd screen, 10 MP, decent macro, configurability, ergonomics, video, 16:9 aspect
Cons: slow transfer USB 1.1, weak ISO, 32meg card, small lcd
The Bottom Line: great camera with loads of features perfect for making the transition to DSLR
Review: Disclaimer: I am not an expert on digital cameras or digital photography and this review is not intended to suggest otherwise. I write this review for those people who, like myself, are ready to transition toward a DSLR camera but not quite ready to ...

Epinions Surprisingly versatile; works like a dream

by  shimmertje,  Sep 16, 2006
Pros: Lovely big zoom, bright, sharp pictures, little noise at high ISO levels.
Cons: Lens cap can be lost easily. Not cheap :)
The Bottom Line: Some professionals look down on people who buy prosumers. This camera can well compete with SLRs.
Review: I fell in love with the idea of the advertised 21.4x optical zoom long before I even saw the camera. When 12x optical zoom is as far as you can get with a prosumer camera today, 21.4x optical zoom sounds like heaven. This even though I wasn't supposed ...

Epinions Review of DMC-FZ50 camera

by  bmw633,  Dec 10, 2006
Pros: The lens is the top assist
Cons: I really don't have any. I all works great
The Bottom Line: This is a great back-up camera for a professional or an excellent camera for the above average photo enthusiast.
Review: Well, I finally purchased a digital camera, in spite of all the negatives I’ve read and heard. I'm a very old and set in his ways photographer with multiple 35mm Contax RTS camera bodies and more Zeiss lenses than I care to list. So I researched ...

Epinions A good intermediate camera

by  aharol,  May 28, 2007
Pros: Looks, Zoom, Optical Stabilization, Scene modes, lets you experiment
Cons: None, really.
The Bottom Line: A definite buy for those wanting to make a transition from the compact point-and-shoots to full blown SLRs.
Review: This camera is a good intermediate one between being an experienced amateur and being an expert photographer. It lets you try out a lot of stuff but helps you if you're not sure what to do. 1. Deciding on the camera I read a lot of reviews before ...

Epinions Why choose it & get the best from it.

by  mister35mm,  Apr 20, 2007
Pros: A lot of camera for the money.
Cons: A bit slow shooting RAW can be noisy.
The Bottom Line: Can give impressive results, especially shooting RAW and tweaking the settings.
Review: I am not going to spout facts and figures about this camera, because you can get all the data from the Panasonic web site. This is my opinion and my advice. Firstly, for the money, you get a lot of camera in a relatively small package. This camera ...

Epinions Intense Functionality plus Much More

by  justinsdaddy,  Sep 26, 2006
Pros: Picture Quality, Versatility, Image Stabilization, Full Manual Controllability
Cons: Remembering to open flash.
The Bottom Line: This is not a beginner camera unless you have the patience to learn. It is a camera which can be used by the professional with confidence.
Review: After spending quite some time reviewing, looking, comparing and finally buying another new camera. The Panasonic Lumix set itself apart from the competition on several levels. Although I am not a professional this camera makes it seem as though I ...

Epinions As good as a digital camera would get before going DSLR

by  kalizzi,  Mar 18, 2008
Pros: Great value for the money, a notch below a DSLR.
Cons: Some noise at high ISOs (above ISO400, low light shooting conditions) but nothing life-threatening!
The Bottom Line: Go for it! You can't go wrong with the DMC-FZ50
Review: It's the Leatherman Super Tool of the digital photography world! Built like a tank and feels so good in your hands. I bought this macho camera nine months ago and I love it more and more as I am getting to know it better. This is my sixth digital camera ...

Pros: Flash hot shoe, great lens, 10 megap, video capability (unlike all SLR cameras)
