I wish I could give it 10 stars

by  l1ama1ady,   May 23, 2006

Pros:  Juice is healthy and tastes fabulous! Usually the pulp is very dry.

Cons:  Highly addictive! Also, not great for stringy fruits/veggies like celery and pineapple.

The Bottom Line:  In my opinion, this juicer was well worth the money I spent on it. Freshly squeezed juice tastes a million times better than store bought, and is much healthier.

This is my first experience with a juicer. I bought it because I'd read how much healthier freshly squeezed juice is than store bought juice. No preservatives and lots of healthy natural enzymes! And to say that it TASTES better would be the understatement of the century. I've grown totally addicted! So far I've tried juicing the following items:

Citrus fruits (Oranges, lemons, limes)
Carrots
Spinach
Pineapple
Mango
Celery

I've found that this juicer works extremely well for citrus fruits and carrots. One downside is that the chute is quite small, so all of the fruit needs to be cut into small pieces (this is the most time-consuming part of the whole process). The pulp is very dry and there's only a small amount of pulp in the juice. This is a low RPM juicer, so it doesn't damage all those healthy enzymes and there is no froth in the juice. I didn't have as great luck with the pineapple and celery, because they're stringier, and the pulp tended to block the screen through which the juice passes to get into my cup. So this caused the pulp to not be as dry and the juice didn't come out as easily. It still came out, but the yield was just a bit lower.

I find the unit very simple to disassemble and clean. It takes a few times to become proficient at assembling/disassembling it, but once you are it takes less than 5 minutes to get all the dirty parts clean. After each juicing, there are a total of 7 parts that need to be washed. The juicer comes with a nice little toothbrush that helps clean the mesh screen. I never put any of the parts in the dishwasher, but I don't think I'd recommend it.

This model also comes with attachments to make pasta, nut butters and baby food. I have yet to try any of those things, but they sound like fun!
