Olympus Evolt E-510 Digital-SLR

I have owned many digital cameras all point and shoot but never a Digital-SLR. With this being my first Digital-SLR I needed to find out all of my options and what camera was going to work best for me.

After reading tons of reviews by professionals and current owners I bought the Olympus Evolt E-510 packaged with the two lenses, ZUIKO Digital 14-42mm and ZUIKO Digital 40-150mm. Out of the box I had to charge the battery that took five hours to charge but after those five hours were up I was on my way. I started taking clean and clear pictures like I have never before.

I set the file type to RAW and JPEG on the highest resolution and turned on the IS or image stabilization feature. I left all other features as they were out of the box. Each picture I took was fantastic and so clear with no blur. I have never had a camera that took high quality pictures like this one.

In the first week I took over 400 pictures, indoors and outside. Even with a cloudy day the picture quality was great. When there is less light using the built in flash really doesn't do the job. I would recommend getting an external flash if your going to take more indoor pictures and in low light areas.

I don't care much for the live view because I honestly don't believe you get the right picture you want by looking at the screen. Even if you are all about the live view then still I would recommend this camera. The manual that comes with the camera is very basic, so I would recommend getting a book that is a little more in depth with all the features this camera has to offer.

I also would recommend getting the package with two lenses. It's a lot cheaper then buying everything separate. I don't understand why so many people buy Canon and Nikon with Olympus on the market?
