Epinions Fad ?

by  el_timmy,  Aug 7, 2008
Pros: Innovative Gameplay Great for Families Virtual Console Backwards Compatibility with Gamecube games
Cons: Unimpressive Library Lack of third party support Poor Online system Many bad budget titles
The Bottom Line: The Wii is great for casual gamers ,but it is like a pinata, it's fun while the novelty last and it's serves better for parties.
Review: Prologue Several month's back, I was peer pressured by a buddy of mines to buy a Wii and hop on the Wii bandwagon. Upon playing the Wii for the first time, I was ecstatic, but then a few weeks pass, the Wii was stored back into the box and was ...

Epinions Fun That Wears Out Fast

by  blake777,  Oct 28, 2008
Pros: Fun, simple, and different.  Family oriented.
Cons: Gimmick, novelty, limited, and old technology.
The Bottom Line: Recommend to first time gamers or casual gamers.  I don't recommend to long time gamers or technophiles.
Review: The Nintendo Wii is a slick new electronic game device from the great game company Nintendo (obviously!).  Little relevant background: Born in the early 80s, I've been a gamer and fan of Nintendo for over 20 years.  My brother and I got ...

Epinions Wii: The New Nintendo System with the Stupid Name. Buy Now, or Wait?

by  Alkaiser,  Nov 18, 2006
Pros: It's intriguing and new. Good packaging. Fun if you have enough people.
Cons: If you don't play single-console multiplayer, then hold off.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend waiting 6-9 months to buy this system, unless you play a lot of single-console multiplayer games.
Review: I know what you're thinking. You're probably saying, "Hey, this guy's cheating! The console's not out yet, how could he possibly have played it?!" Well, if you've got the right connections, you or someone you know already has their hands on one. ...

Epinions Mii wants more!

by  bobbyslav,  Sep 10, 2007
Pros: motion control, size, built in WiFi, potential.
Cons: boring games, ugly graphics, no DVD playback, expensive accessories, overhyped.
The Bottom Line: Great fun for a while, if played with a few friends. Gets really boring really fast if played alone.
Review: When I first played the Wii at a friend’s house, I thought I’d finally become a gaming convert. I had heard a lot about it and all, but only after I played it I found what it takes to make it work. I’ve seen a lot of people write that the excessive ...

Epinions Nintendo Wii - 18 months on

by  vacuumgarden,  May 1, 2008
Pros: The cheapest of the current-gen consoles, and the most accessible to newcomers.
Cons: Lack of truly great games and limited online functionality will upset more dedicated gamers.
The Bottom Line: The Wii has a colossal user base, but only a handful of great games. Unless better titles are released more regularly, the Wii may prove to be a missed opportunity.
Review: If you weren't living under a rock for the past year, then you'll most likely have heard of the Nintendo Wii. Launched in September 2006, its unique motion-sensing control system made waves in both established gaming circles as well as the mainstream ...

Epinions A good (not great) system

by  xenoranger,  Jul 18, 2007
Pros: Casual Gamer Friendly
Backwards Compatible
Low Price
Cons: Last Gen Specs
Super Sensitive Controllers
Some of the bundled games are difficult to play
The Bottom Line: The Wii is a family system that caters to the casual gamer. It's easy to get into and cheaper than the rest, but also based on last gen technology.
Review: Ok, this is where my true age starts to show, but remember the good old days when people shook their controllers thinking it'd make Mario jump higher? I used to laugh at them, and laugh, and laugh. Then I'd do better than them by holding mine steady. Of ...

Epinions 178th Review of Wii Adds Surprising New Insights!

by  lucidlemur,  Jun 29, 2008
Pros: Good indoor fun, several different Sports games can be a good workout
Cons: Expensive, especially if you want to add controllers; limited workout potential and lame graphics
The Bottom Line: I've enjoyed the Sports games (except boxing) and got some good workouts, but I'm not sure the Wii has lived up to all the hype, especially with its high price.
Review: Okay, you probably won't find any earth-shattering information in this review. It's what, the 178th review of the Wii on this site? What could I possibly add to the discussion at this point? I think the best I can do is get specific about my personal ...

Epinions Fun but Tragically Flawed

by  green-z,  Nov 27, 2006
Pros: Fun new way to play video games...
Cons: But gets old quickly. Requires lots of space for full controller movement.
The Bottom Line: If you have a XBOX 360 or PS3 the Wii is a fun companion system. It's not a substitute for these systems though. The motion controller gimmick wears thin.
Review: Nintendo has a history of making video game systems that either become the market leader or bomb fantastically. The original NES reinvigorated a moribund video game market in the mid 1980s. A few years later Nintendo invented the portable gaming market ...

Epinions best to wait

by  qsabe,  Apr 5, 2007
Pros: Good exercise, some games are great.
Cons: inconsistency in the wands actions to movement results in disapointing game play.
The Bottom Line: It isn't the greatest, but it can be fun. If you have other game systems, adding the Wii isn't a bad idea.
Review: I've had my Wii for several months now and didn't feel writing a review within the first short time of owning it was right as I really had no experience with the system and what it could do.. While it was and still is hard to get your hands on a system, ...

Epinions There's something missing here

by  Grendelguy,  Apr 11, 2008
Pros: Fun with friends, innovative
Cons: Not enough for the hardcore gaming fans
The Bottom Line: It's fun. Sometimes.
Review: After having played games like Warioware and Sonic and just about everything else already on the Wii, I went ahead and purchased one and haven't been disappointed thus far. The first game I bought was Legend of Zelda, and I'm still playing it after 20+ ...
