Pros:  it's a needed accessory in a lot of games and works really good

Cons:  Nintendo should have just bundel it in with the wii mote

The Bottom Line:  oh a fellow chucker.

Ok I got the Nunchuck that came with the Wii mote to buy a 2nd nunchuck costs 20 dollars on top of the 40 dollars for a new wii mote, why did Nintendo decide to sell these separately, I don’t know. True there are going to be plenty of games that won’t use the nunchuck but most of the real games will and all ready due. So what does the Nunchuck attachment do.

The nunchuck.
The nunchuck is basically as a grip with an analog stick on top of it, you hold the grip in your other hand while you hold the Wii mote in the other. In the front side there is a Z button plus a smaller C button. The grip is attached to a short cord which as a jack that plugs into a Wii mote. When plug in this gives the Wii an analog stick which will be used in of course more traditional games like Zelda as well has two more buttons to use. The analog stick feels more towards the Sony design analog stick compared to the Nintendo usually grooved analog stick, but the analog base looks just like the gamecubes in the fact that it has 8 octagon points to it. The C and Z buttons fit comfortably and can be reached easily with the fingers, the Z button is of course like the N64 and Gamecube an extra button to be used for things like locking on. While the C button at least in Zelda will do things like control the camera angel.

But there is more to it then just an extra analog stick the nunchuck also as some of the Wii’s motion sensing features, while it doesn’t have all it can work with the Wii mote and do several cool things. It will register motion like pushing towards the TV this make it useful has your 2nd glove in Wii boxing. Other examples for what it can do in the motion detecting area is in Zelda Twilight Princess. Merely twisting the nuncuck causes Link to do a spin attack. While pressing it forward can cause Link to thrust with his shield. It comes in handy for adding in an extra layer of gameplay to the all ready unique Wii mote.

Final thoughts and recommendation.
I do believe Nintendo should have added this into the wii remote and charged 50 rather then separately. For one thing Wii owners have had a hard time tracking down this rather necessary accessory after buying the Wii remote. It is easy to hold and comfortable feel to the grip and the two buttons are easy to press in front of it, the motion sensing works pretty well with it so it’s a really nice feature to the Wii. You’ll get one free when you buy a Wii but there sold separate from the Wii remote after that.
