Link, what happened dude!?! You've gone soft on me!!!

by  roxfox64,   Nov 24, 2007

Pros:  Excellent use of the touch screen!

Cons:  The game is WAY TOO SHORT, too easy, dissapoints as a Legend of Zelda game

The Bottom Line:  Rent this game. Because chances are you'll finish it before the rental is up.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

When I read that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom hourglass
was the best DS game of all time {Nintendo Power} I was excited, but now after I've played it I have one question NP WERE YOU HIGH?!? OK, by now you may have guessed that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom hourglass is not the best ds game of all time, in fact I got news for you it is the worst Zelda game of alll time! The game starts off with our main character strolling the seas with Tetra a young girl who we found out in The Wind Waker was actually Princes zelda, anywho everything was going fine until the ghost ship shows up and Tetra goes on board to inspect(Gee, when a haunted ship covered in mist shows up climbing on board is the smartest thing possible). A few seconds later Tetra screams, Link tries to jump on board, misses, falls into the water, the ghost ship sails away with Tetra, yada yada yada... Anyway the game is just down right too easy for a zelda game. Your sword is controlled by simple motions on the touch screen: A vertical or horizontal swipe will make link swipe his sword in said direction, where as a sharp flick will make link stab outward. The game is divided into two parts battles that take place on land, and battles that take place on Linebeck's ship. Linebeck's ship is how you get from island to island, and rather than some mini game you draw a course on the map follow that course and fight enemies along the way. the game takes full advantage of the DS. You can blow into the mic to blow out candles or yell at the elderly, use the touch screen to do most every thing from fighting to walking to puzzles it does it all, and the D-Pad does nothing useful... Anyway, do not buy this game. Just, rent it from Block Buster or gamefly, cause it won't take you more than five days to beat it.
