Seeing Stars? Blocks more like…

As soon as you turn Meteos on, it becomes apparent that it is no ordinary puzzle game. For starters, it has a plot, which tells you in no uncertain terms – “If Meteos stack too high, the world ends!” Don’t expect it to be made into a Hollywood blockbuster, but at least there is a slight incentive to reach the end. The other point that separates it from the puzzle genre is that instead of the blocks disappearing they fly upwards. This allows the player to rack up combos and keeps the pace of the game ultra-high.
Another plus point is that this game is perfect if you want a quick two-minute
game or a long two-hour session. Meteos is fast and furious fun, especially with three people involved.
There are three ways to play through story mode. There is the direct route, which contains only one ending, the branching route with seven endings, and the multi route with three endings. Each ending takes less than half an hour to reach but if you wanted to unlock every world, sound and power up, it would take many hours of playing.
If you did eventually manage to unlock all of these, there is still wireless play for 2-4 people and the lure of beating your own high score.
The graphics are clear and functional although not astounding, the gameplay is a fun twist on the usual Tetris type game and if you want to complete everything it would take many hours.
A couple of problems are that your hand can get tired out if your playing for a while, and, also after a long session, when you close your eyes blocks appear!!!
If you like puzzle games, buy it.
If you dislike puzzle games, think about buying it.
If you have a heart problem…better not.
