Epinions AutoFocus is only shortcoming

by  jerrybesq,  Oct 18, 2008
Pros: Sharpest pictures ever
Cons: Autofocus
Review: This is a great camera that will deliver super sharp images . . . unless you use autofocus. I've given the autofocus every chance. It simply does not work. I've assumed it was a software shortcoming but I don't know that. The answer is, of course, to ...

Epinions opened my eyes!

by  ianwallace,  Jan 7, 2007
Pros: excellent value for money - solid build
Cons: dust on the sensor - but that's a con for all digital SLR's
Review: I bought a D200 about 6 months ago and it was my first leap into the digital SLR. After initial disappointment with image quality (I had previously been using medium format equipment) I took the time to learn about RAW conversion and digital imaging and ...

Epinions Best Digital SLR for the money

by  nasarem,  May 11, 2006
Pros: Excellent handling, ergonomics, build, image quality, and value.
Cons: 1:1 CCD. focus mode easy to accidentally kick into manual.
Review: Hands down the best digital SLR for the money. Even taking the bang-for-the-buck factor our of the equation, many pro photographers will opt for the D200 over other models because of its excellent blend of: unbeatable ergonomics, solid build, ...

Epinions Simply Amazing..

by  chartchaiganan,  Aug 5, 2007
Pros: overall features and build quality
Cons: a little heavy, but not a problem
Review: Overall, the camera is a great buy at a great price. The features of the D200 are quite amazing and superb build. Great upgrade from other Nikon cameras with professional feel. Body has a nice strong feeling and has great fitment for my hands. I ...

Epinions Bought Nikon D200

by  opawilli,  Aug 12, 2007
Pros: Simply the best camera for the money.
Cons: Not a single "con," and I've scrutinized. Nikon got it right!
Review: After several months on the internet doing comparisons between all brands in this Digital SLR genre, I chose the D200. It will serve me well for years to come. I added the Nikon 18-200 zoom lens with VR, a great combination. With this combination of ...

Epinions Think carefully before you buy this camera

by  tforan,  May 25, 2006
Pros: Matrix metering, smart ergonomics, superior image quality to the D70
Cons: Poor value, non-pro warranty autofocus not pro level, camera confused in demanding situations.
The Bottom Line: Stick with your D70, or get the D2X
Review: Like most people here I wrote a a glowing review when I had first purchased the D200. This can be a poor time to write because people can be hypnotized by an expensive new toy. Over a period of six months I have changed my opinion about this ...

Epinions Soft Focus on D200

by  irockhound,  Apr 11, 2007
Pros: Good Feel, fast reaction and huge buffer. Menus logical Quiet and responsive camera.
Cons: Soft Focus make it difficult to get a nice image
The Bottom Line: Test this camera in your hand before buying it. Soft focus problem in not in all D200's but with so many threads and posts why chance it?
Review: I purchased the D200 with the 18-200 combo in October of 2006. I started shooting with the enthusiasm that comes with new equipment however I was feeling disappointed with the results. It seemed that even in daylight conditions I was getting soft ...
