Epinions Nikon Scores Again with the Nuvis S

by  kenb4hondas,  Aug 10, 2000
Pros: High Quality, Compact, Versatile
Cons: Not readily available at a discount.
Review: I'm not a photography or camera aficionado but I do appreciate the opportunity to take good pictures, and provide a central point for family histories, conversations, and sharing enjoyable memories with others.

I have always owned two cameras....

Epinions Great Easy to Use Travel Camera

by  islandalex,  May 13, 2001
Pros: Compact, Durable, great pictures, APS, Easy to use, mid role change
Cons: Larger/heavier than some models, the battery lasts less than a year
The Bottom Line: Great little camera to carry everywhere.
Review: I brought the Nuvis S almost a year ago and I carry it around everywhere with me. Since then I have developed over 30 rolls of film, in black and white, colour, panoramic, and classic.

It has a wide range zoom, and uses an easy to find...

Epinions Nikon Nuvis S...Perfect for anyone!

by  Gibsonsdl,  Jan 11, 2000
Pros: Sleek, Compact, Efficient APS Camera
Cons: None so far!
Review: I purchased the Nikon Nuvis S APS format camera for a trip my husband and I were taking in December to the Bahamas. After tedious research, I bought the Nikon and have yet to be disappointed. This camera is packed full of exciting, easy to use...

Epinions APS dream camera???

by  syrus15,  Jun 16, 2000
Pros: Compact, stainless steel case, loaded with features, great belt clip holster from Nikon ($20), and new red-eye reduction system
Cons: A bit grainy, but I don't know if it was because of ISO 200 film or 30mm APS format. A bit pricey for all the features...
Review: With my first roll of indoors restaurant pictures, I like the red-eye reduction which didn't do the strobe effect. What it does is give a soft light coming from the camera for a couple of seconds then the flash for the exposure. Flash not as strong as...

Epinions Full Metal Jacket

by  Buffett,  Dec 27, 1999
Pros: small, durable
Cons: some uncertainty about the staying power of APS
Review: I saw a picture of the Nuvis S in an airplane catalog and, as a self-admitted gadget junkie, I had to see this camera. I hope to do some foreign travel in the near future and was "in the market" for an upgrade from my Fuji Discover point and...

Epinions Nikon Nuvis S

by  coffeeaddict,  Feb 1, 2001
Pros: Small, Sturdy, Good lens for camera type, mid roll change.
Cons: Not exactly as compact and easy to carry around as you would think.
The Bottom Line: Good sturdy camera from a company who is known for quality lenses. Larger and bulkier than competitors, but still compact.
Review: If you've come this far and are looking for a compact APS camera, then most likely you've narrowed down your choices to the Nikon Nuvis S and one of the camera's in the Canon ELPH family. The following review will focus on the Nikon camera, it's Pros...

Epinions Great alternative to Canon Elph

by  rasw,  Jun 14, 2000
Pros: Small, built in case, less prone to red-eye than Elph
Cons: Easy to put your finger in front of lens while taking picture!
Review: I bought a Nikon Nuvis S after I got fed up with the problems of my Canon Elph.

The Elph had several flaws that the Nuvis fixed: the Nuvis is much less prone to red-eye, it doesn't turn itself on accidentally in my pocket, and the flash isn't...

Epinions How good is it?

by  pbwise,  Jul 5, 2000
Pros: great design, easy to use, compact
Cons: blurry pictures, heavy
Review: I bought my Nikon Nuvis S about 8 months ago. I wanted something small and from a reputable brandname. I looked at the elph but when I was in the store, the salesman showed me how my finger seemed to go over the flash so I deemed it too small. I also...

Epinions My friends called it a "spy camera"!

by  baylorgrad,  Jul 27, 2001
Pros: Small, compact size; durable case.
Cons: Controls can be hard to manage if you have big hands; price can be high.
The Bottom Line: A sturdy little APS camera that's compact and great to carry around!
Review: This was a total impulse buy. I saw the Nikon Nuvis S in a magazine ad and drove straight to the camera store to see if one was in stock. I was in luck, and I walked out of the store with one of the best APS cameras I've ever used.

One of the...

Epinions Not impressed

by  KickinA,  Jun 15, 2000
Pros: Small, Nice Case
Cons: Poor picture quality
Review: I initially purchased this camera due to its small size, construction quality, name brand, and cool looks.

The construction of this camera is excellent. Competing APS models from Minolta and Canon are about the same size as the Nuvis, but are...
