H700 - Thumbs Up

I use the H700 paired with my BlackBerry 7290. I researched a number of Bluetooth headsets, but decided on the H700 based on it's size, battery life, connection type, and design.

While I still think wireless headsets in general are somewhat ugly, the function for me now out weighs the "fashion" aspect. The design of the H700 very functional. The size of the "boom" is very small, and flips making the headset even more compact. With the boom flipped closed, it also turns the unit off, conserving battery power.

The size of the H700 was a huge selling feature. The unit clips over the ear, and is surprisingly comfortable to wear. The speaker sits in front of the ear canal, and does not have those rubber or jelly like plugs that go into the ear. While this is probably safer, and indeed more comfortable, it does affect the volume in which you hear people you are talking to. However, it also allows you to listen to the radio in stereo and not experience a quasi 'mono' mode as you would with one of those plug ear buds.

The connection interface for charging is the same as my BlackBerry, which means I only need 1 car charger. Very handy. The battery life is very good, especially if you keep the unit off when not in use. I tend to only use the H700 while in the car, or for conference calls.

Another design feature that I was very interested in was the noise cancelling technology. Everyone I have spoken too was surprised to find out I was talking over a Bluetooth headset. As this is my first Bluetooth headset, I have nothing but a wired jabra to compare it to, and so far quality is just as good, if not better.

All and all, I am quite happy with the H700, and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a Bluetooth headset.
