The ULTIMATE Big Screen!

This TV is GREAT! Watching a movie on this 82" TV is incredible. It dwarfs my 65" TV. It is a very elegant looking TV. The cabinet is a high gloss black like you would find on a grand piano. The picture quality is super. It is MUCH brighter than my 65” Rear Projection CRT TV. This 82” monster uses LCOS (which is similar to DLP, but DOESN’T use a motorized color wheel!) technology and I must say, the results are stunning! I bought a HD-DVD (and Blu-ray) player, and was blown away! I knew that this TV required periodical lamp changes when I bought it, but keep that in mind if you are looking at TV’s. All LCOS and DLP TV’s require you to change the lamp (really easy) after so many hours. The hours vary between sets, but they last between 3000 and 8000 hours, and range in price $150 to $400. When you first turn it on, it takes a minute or two for the bulb to fully shine, but believe me, it's worth the wait!
I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase. I guess my ONLY complaint is that Mitsubishi limited the DVI input to 1080i. The RGB input goes to 1080p. I couldn't find a HD-DVD player (or Blu-ray) that had a RGB output, so I had to buy a $150 cable that converted HDMI to RGB. Small price to pay for such a great picture! WAY better picture quality than LCD! If you want a quality picture, and have the room, this 82" TV is the ULTIMATE HOME THEATER!
