Epinions Does what it's supposed to....

by  beelzebubba,  Jan 23, 2007
Pros: Freshly ground coffee, good coarse/fine grind settings.
Cons: Bit of dust, bit loud
The Bottom Line: Don't overlook this grinder, it does its basic job well enough, but consider other grinders too.
Review: Let me first start off by stating that this is one of only two consumer-grade burr grinders I have experience with, and it's worth stating that this one is my preferred of the two. Another relevant point is that I like to enjoy my coffee straight. No ...

Epinions Krups GVX2 - a good starter grinder

by  Eutek,  Oct 18, 2007
Pros: Small footprint, attractive design, easy to use
Cons: Creates a fair bit of dust, beans get stuck
The Bottom Line: A good grinder for starting out. Better for filter coffee than for espresso, although coffee ground for espresso is still more than adequately drinkable.

Cons: Tried two machines. Both broke down after a few months of light, careful use.
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your money. Better to buy a really top quality grinder than replace this one every few months.
Review: I bought this grinder 10 months ago. After about six months of daily use, it simply stopped working. The store gave me a new one. Four months later, the new one didn't stop entirely but something went wrong internally. The coffee grounds took on a smell ...

Epinions Nice features, too noisy

by  scwt47,  Dec 25, 2006
Pros: Great design and look. Nice controls. Power override switch for a quick bump or shutoff.
Cons: The intensity and note of this machine's sound were irritating and unpleasant.
The Bottom Line: Find a quieter machine than this one. If you like your coffee, and not your grinder, to wake you up daily then move up the cost scale.
Review: We bought this to get fresh-ground flavor into our press-pot coffee maker. Getting pre-ground coffee is nice, but a pound lasts too long at our house and the ground coffee is "off" after a week in our canister. So our first burr grinder was the GVX2-14. ...
