I recently wanted to change cameras from a Kodak Z612 (which I loved - just wanted a little smaller camera) so I bought the Kodak Z885. Unfortunately, I have to say that I am disappointed in this camera. A lot of it is due to what you are used to, and going from a larger size to such a small size was not easy for me. I found the Z885 a little too small for my taste. I have small hands and yet the power on button was a little hard to push and one of my main complaints is the shutter button being in the middle of the settings dial. I like to keep the camera on Automatic setting usually, and when I would pull the camera out of the case, it would get moved off automatic and I didn't realize it so several pictures turned out blurry. I have owned all Kodak digital cameras and have had great luck until now. The processor on this camera seems very slow as well. I like to review pics on the LCD after I've taken them and also like to magnify, and the hourglass would come up any time I wanted to magnify the pics. Start up time seems below average as well. The z612 would turn on in about 1 second and this camera takes about 3 seconds. The pictures do turn out good though, minus one where the flash was used and shouldn't have been. I love the Kodak menu system, very easy to use and gives several different settings to choose from such as: Beach, Snow, Fireworks, Portrait, Night, Sports, Children, etc. The camera takes great indoor photos, I used it at Chuck E Cheese and all the photos turned out great with great color. Another great thing about the camera is the 5x optical zoom on such a small camera, most point and shoots only offer 3x optical.

Overall this would be a good camera for anyone who doesn't mind a small size camera, especially as a first camera, the little quirks I have wouldn't bother a new user as much as they would not have been used to anything else.
