Great first time digital camera

This is a great digital camera--perfect for a novice in digital film. It has intuitive controls--I have not opened the owners manual yet and am taking great pictures of people and great macro shots of items to email to friends. It has red eye reduction, image stabilization, 10x zoom, and because of its style you can hold onto it unlike the small "pocket cameras" out there. The pop up flash is automatic as is the focus which makes the camera almost idiot proof. It has a viewfinder as well which a lot of the pocket cameras do not have--this allows the user to see the subject even in bright sunlight which blanks out almost all LCD screens.
I shopped on line and at 2 different camera stores and nobody came up with this camera. I wanted a camera that would take great close-ups of objects (macro) that I could email to friends and others but wanted a camera that would take pictures of pets and friends as well. Finally I called a professional photographer friend of mine who told me I needed at least seven million pixels(this camera has 7.1) a viewfinder (because of the sunlight issue on the screens) and a an SLR body type camera(without the price of a SLR camera)so that it would be possible to hold the camera and take pictures with one hand while holding a subject in the other hand. He also told me that Fuji was as good a lens as Nikon or Canon. So this is what I came up with---a definite recommend!!!
