Firmware Updates Necessary! But impossible to do!!!

Chances are you'll need the latest version 2.10 firmware upgrade for the DP-301U. Version 2.10 fixes several bugs, and provides compatibility with many printers. My brand new DP-301U came with long outdated firmware, right out of the box. Any ways, D-Link has the latest firmware posted in the downloads section of their website:

Unfortunately, if your box currently has firmware version 1.20 or higher, the only way to update the firmware is with D-Link's PS Admin software utility, (because D-Link has removed the firmware update feature from the DP-301U's built-in webserver pages). Too bad, because PS Admin says the 2.10 firmware file has a Checksum Error, and it will not proceed!!! So, I spent way too much time on the phone with D-Link tech support, trying to convey this problem to them. I got bounced from person to person, until my case got escalated to a high priority level. Yet nobody seemed to have a clue what to do. The highest level phone tech said that the only way to upgrade the firmware is to send the unit in to them. So why the heck do they provide the files & update info on their website?

Dear D-Link Engineers:
Please fix PS Admin and/or your DP-301U version 2.10 firmware file. It's ridiculous that customers have to send their units to the factory just to do a flash firmware upgrade. Also, please use a different default IP address for the DP-301U. The current default is 192.168.0.1 and this conflicts with my D-Link router. You guys should use a different default IP address for each of your products, so they can co-exist out of the box.
